March Madness + Chair massage

It is the end of March and March Madness is upon us! Want to keep your employees focused, in the office, and productive? Chair massage events in the office KEEP employees in the office.

Whether you’re a hardcore basketball fan or not, you may be influenced by this event. Many people will begin to create these brackets and spend copious amounts of time perfecting them.  In the end, they want the perfect bracket that will bring them to victory.

With all of the crazy basketball highs and lows during March Madness, one concern employers are noticing is the lack of work being done. March Madness is on the same list of productivity which typically shows a reduction in hours worked compared to the recent Olympics or the Super Bowl.  Employees are sometimes inclined to keep up with recent news about their team picks during the workday.  Not only are you losing productivity for the workplace as a whole, but you’re also allowing yourself to get behind on your work later on.

It may seem like you know your limits and you’ll make sure you keep it out of the workplace but chances are you’ll end up doing the same thing as the others while discussing brackets and sneaking updates online during work hours.

During or following March Madness, many will be left to pick up the pieces of your work and most likely bring themselves into overdrive attempting to get back into the swing of things. This can cause a feeling of being overwhelmed with looming projects and a long “to-do” list.  It is a challenge to bring productivity levels back to where they were. Be sure to ask employees to leave the sports viewing at home and only engage with viewing when their work is complete.

Regardless of what may be going on in the workplace, stress is a common cause of productivity levels dropping. Ideally, stress is kept to a minimum to ensure you are being the best you can be and getting as much as you can done. If you’re having stress issues, feel free to request a free quote from Massage Kneads today! Our seasoned and trained onsite chair massage therapists are always willing to help get you back to being you.

Four health tips for teachers including chair massage!

With spring break soon upon us, many will enjoy a deserved break from early alarm clocks, school lunches, and possibly bus schedules.  Education is something that can causeTeachers enjoy mobile chair massage! excitement but can also lead to stress, whether it be in small doses or large amounts. Long days in a classroom can put stress on your back and shoulders. Sitting in a chair all day is not fun to do, and can make you upset very easily. We all need relief and there are some simple ways to get that relief you have been “kneading” for so long. (Inside tip, chair massage gives relief!)

Teachers are working longer and harder these days post-COVID. Teacher appreciation is upon us soon enough. The designated date for this year is May 7th, 2024. #teacherappreciation

Here are some additional ideas to stay healthy this spring!

Exercise. It may sound redundant, but keeping a healthy lifestyle with exercise 3 or more times a week can reduce back pain and stress.  It also keeps your mind in a brighter place. Some recommended exercises are Back extensions, bridges, and knee rolls, 10 of each of these exercises every day will allow for a reduction in lower back pain as well as a clear state of mind.

Healthy Dieting. Eating a balanced and complete 3 meals a day will help with your overall mood and mindset when heading to school, or any day in general. One of the most important things to remember is that you cannot skip out on Breakfasts. The energy provided from the first meal of the day is crucial to your mindset and ignoring this meal can cause foggy and decreased brain productivity. Make sure you include many proteins in your breakfast that sustain you through the day!

Sleep. By far the most important thing on this list is sleep. Sleep is so important to how you will react and feel the next day. Depending on your age, people need different amounts of sleep.  Most people do not get the amount of sleep that they need. There have been multiple studies about the amount of sleep that students in high school are getting, the average has been 6-7 hours. That is 3 hours short on average. Getting the required sleep is very important for your brain, as it lets you focus on things clearly and consciously. There has been a trend in students, that the more sleep you get, the higher your grades are. This is not true for every student, but it shows a good baseline and shows the  importance of getting those extra 3 hours of sleep can be to testing and grades

On-site Chair Massage. Receiving a mobile chair massage is an excellent way to break up a mid-week slump. Your massage chair therapist will work on your traps, neck muscles, and rhomboids. These are the key areas to reducing your stress levels and causing you to relax and focus. On average, a mobile massage session will last about 15 to 30 minutes. This is a great benefit because it can fit into almost everybody’s schedule between classes, work, and any other important activities your day consists of.

Your mobile massage chair specialist understands your stress where its key points lie and how to reduce stress very quickly, allowing you to charge through the week with full confidence!

Corporate Massage Kneads is the premier mobile chair massage business in Maryland! We have many clients that enjoy receiving a mobile chair massage. Read the testimonials here!

Chair massage celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week & National Nurses Day 2024!

Corporate on-site chair massage is a fabulous wellness program to celebrate these unsung heroes; nurses and teachers!Chair massage celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week & National Nurses Day!

Both teachers and nurses celebrate their special days in May! Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation Week are the same week this year and will begin on Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.  A special week indeed for many who devote their lives to helping others day in and day out.  Both professions are key to our communities as they continue to educate and nurture each day in their special way.

HISTORY about National Nurses Day to be celebrated the week of Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.

National Nurses Day is celebrated on May 7th, 2024 this year. This date is chosen in honor of the birthday of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910). As many are aware, she is known for founding the nursing profession during the Crimean War (1853-1856). An interesting fact is that she became known as “The Lady with the Lamp” due to her habit of making her rounds at night when others were not around.

What would your experience be if there was no nurse to tend to you or a loved one during a time of need? Nurses tend to our physical and emotional wounds typically during stressful times with medical assistance through experience and calming behavior.

HISTORY about National Teacher Appreciation Day to be celebrated the week of Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.

Teachers are often celebrated during the first full week of May each year. This special day has a long history that brings this celebration to the forefront of our community. In 1944, leaders in politics and education discussed the need for a national day to honor teachers. In 1953, Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. Finally, in 1980, Congress declared National Teacher Day, which was later changed by the National Education Association to the first full week of May to honor these dedicated professionals.

What are your fond memories of your favorite teacher or nurse? We all have had experiences throughout our lives that have been enhanced by either a nurse or a teacher.

Mobile chair massage is the PERFECT way to say “Thank You” to these special and important service providers.  Massage Kneads would be honored to come to your facility and offer stress relief and mobile chair massage to give some relief and care to these special caregivers during this special time of year. Wellness programs are always appreciated any time of year!

Corporate chair massage adds and does not take away

picture of chair massage therapistsHave you ever been on a plane when the flight attendant instructed you that in case of emergency, to put on your mask first and then assist those around you? It struck a chord in me recently as I feel that we all “knead” to manage our health and wellness first before pouring ourselves into other people. If we cannot take the time for ourselves, how will we remain filled up, healthy, and available for those who require more time and attention? Chair massage can help! Our team offers ONLY chair massages in Maryland.

If we are under constant stress, our bodies gear up and allow the defensive mode to be turned on. In so doing, the stress hormones rise along with heart rates and blood pressure. In addition, the muscles tighten up which allows for more aches and pains and often produces headache tension, leading to migraines.  If stress is acute and ongoing, these conditions become the “normal” state for the body and can have an effect and toll on our well-being making it take longer to correct.

Wellness comes in many forms. Taking frequent walk breaks, breathing deeply, exercising, and getting proper sleep and nutrition are ways to improve wellness.  Working 40+ hours is taxing for sure, but not including some of these stress relievers can compound an already tough situation.

Writing of which, I just saw an interesting piece about the top super healthy foods that will fill you up in hopes of restoring fresh and often required vitamins and minerals. Some are more commonplace: Greek yogurt, avocados, barley, black beans, berries, broccoli, etc.  Others were a bit of a surprise and have recently lost their favor: bananas, black pepper, bok choy, brown rice, etc.

With the help of the internet and new recipes, lunch can become more exciting when planned out and managed each week. A small investment of time and energy can result in healthy (and better) eating.  Small changes make a BIG difference in daily living. Wellness initiatives that include massage, proper nutrition, and modest exercise help restore the body one step at a time.

Since 2006, Corporate Massage Kneads has been Maryland’s premier mobile chair massage company. We provide corporate chair massage and wellness programs that fit whatever particular “kneads” you have!  We would be honored to be considered as your chosen on-site chair massage company in the future.

If on-site corporate chair massage sounds like a program that can be incorporated into your business and wellness program, I hope to hear from you. Contact me, Janet Constantino.
