Sheryl is a registered and licensed dietitian with over thirty years of experience in the nutrition field and a twenty-two year career as an officer (Lt. Colonel) in the U.S. Army Specialist Corp (Dietetics). She is a graduate of Adrian College in Michigan (BS, Home Economics), and the University of Maryland (MS, Nutrition Science).
Although her specialty is in all aspects of nutrition wellness, she has held many varied positions including over 10 years nutrition research with the USDA, clinical dietetics at The Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center, private practice in renal dietetics, and teaching experience at all levels from preschool to graduate students at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She has also worked as an in-store consumer advisor dietitian for Giant Foods and Hannaford Brothers grocery chains. She is as passionate about helping individual clients begin to eat in healthier manners as she is about teaching and lecturing large groups.
