It’s Thanksgiving which means the holidays are right around the corner. This is the time of the year where family members come from all over to celebrate the traditional holiday with each other. Most of the holiday can be very fun and exciting which includes more occasions with tasty and typically high calorie foods.
Once this all done and the holiday is over, you may have gained a bit of weight from all yummy food. I have a few small tips to help you stay on track with your weight management during this busy holiday season.
Weight Loss Tips
Water! Remind yourself about staying hydrated throughout the day with water. As a pro tip, water should be a measure using half of your body weight, then convert that to ounces. For someone who weighs 200 lbs, you should be keeping a daily intake of 100 oz of water each and every day. Not only is water imperative for your body, it also helps you keep your skin nice and refreshed which helps demolish acne and red patches.
Exercise! We understand that most people are busy throughout the day and exercise if one more item to complete during the day. Exercise is very important if you plan on maintaining a healthy weight. The estimated average for maintaining a weight is 15 minutes of walking or jogging each and every day. This is a small sliver of time that you can spare to give to help keep your goals in check. I find that parking far away in the crowded parking lots often helps me to avoid others AND increase my steps for the day. I also typically take the steps when walking in large public places. Each little step adds up throughout the day!
Food! Focusing on food consumed during the holidays also helps. Thinking that sugar may boost your mood? Why not try a hot tea to get you through the mid afternoon slump? The general rule is to stick towards the more lean foods that are available. This would include lean meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and anything else that can help stimulate your metabolism and keep the weight loss in effect. Remember to keep away from processed items and gravitate to items that are fresh and healthy for you.
Stress! Stress is a very common cause of weight gain so it’s in your best interest to eliminate as much stress as you can when attempting to lose weight. The easiest way to bring stress-relief is to stretch and reset those aching muscles. By finding the spots on your body that are giving you the most trouble, you will experience more movement throughout the day. The experienced and trained chair massage therapists at Massage Kneads are able to quickly find the problem areas and release the tension you are having.
Mobile Chair Massage! Massage Kneads is invested in helping you out in eliminating stress which ultimately increases focus and productivity! Using these weight techniques are a sure-fire way to make sure you stay in shape without all of the added stress of a strict diet. Strict diets tend to come and go and typically cannot be sustained for long periods of time.
