May I have a chair massage? Exams are coming…
It’s officially June! This is the month of the year when many students are stressed out. Whether you’re in college and have finals this first week of June, or you’re a night student with a full-time job who is getting ready for your exams, it’s a rough time for everyone. Being a parent of stressed-out students can also be tough, so I’ve come up with a few ideas you may want to incorporate to help relieve some of the daily school stress your household may be experiencing.
Comfort Food
With exams, projects, and finals on the back of their minds constantly, many students forget to eat properly, which can lead to health issues and a lack of sufficient nutrients. The best way to combat a lack of eating or eating too much junk food is to prepare small snacks and meals that are tasty and considered “comfort food,” but also contain important nutrients. Ideal snacks include chips with hummus or guacamole, fruit salad, smoothies, peanut butter and banana pitas, and chicken wraps.
Peanut butter and banana pita wraps were one of my favorite snacks growing up and are fun, tasty, easy to make, and can give you a quick boost of energy and make you less hungry throughout the day. Feel free to jazz it up by adding granola, honey, or blueberries into the mix. Chips with hummus, fresh salsa, or guacamole, can also be good in moderation. For an even healthier snack, consider substituting chips with baby carrots, celery, or cucumber slices to help reduce calorie intake. A small snack like this can go a long way and is also very flavorful.
Sleep Routine
It’s not just about getting enough sleep at night. While that is one very important aspect of being focused and doing well in your studies, it isn’t the only thing that helps promote healthy sleep. It’s easy to forget or ignore health routines when we are feeling stressed. It’s important to take the time for self care – to wash your face, take showers regularly, or even have a warm bath before bed.
Set your students up for success, maybe treating them (or yourself) with a few products like face masks, bath bombs, and lotions to help them relieve stress through self care. Lush sells all-natural, fresh face masks that have active ingredients and essential oils meant to help reduce stress and have the added benefits of being great for your skin.
We know you want to help your student out with whatever they may need, but doing so can also stress you out in the process. Make sure as a parent you put yourself first as well and give yourself time to relax. Productivity on the job can suffer if you focus too much on how your kids are doing. Be there for them if “kneaded”, but be there for yourself too.

Give thanks for Memorial Day
Corporate Massage Kneads is grateful for and remembers all those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Beyond the cookouts and unofficial start to summer, Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and a chance for us to express gratitude for those who gave everything for their country.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a U.S. federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Originally known as Decoration Day, it began after the Civil War as a way to commemorate Union and Confederate soldiers who lost their lives. Over time, it evolved into a broader tribute to all American military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The day is marked by various traditions, including placing flags and flowers on graves, holding parades, and observing moments of silence. Many people also take the long weekend as an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, reflecting on the freedoms made possible by those who served.
Chair massage helps with summer travel!
Ever consider enjoying a chair massage before you travel? Traveling and exploring the world can be a fun and exciting experience. However, traveling can also be filled with new stressors and situations that can leave you feeling very disoriented, tense, and less able to fully enjoy your experience in a new place after suffering the effects of transportation. Fortunately, chair massage has become much more widely available in airports, train stations, malls, etc.
I have recently traveled and personally experienced a lot of the negative effects of long plane rides, jet lag, tense muscles, and overall discomfort. There is nothing that I want more than to relax and soothe my strained muscles, especially on vacation. Believe it or not, massage can be a wonderful and extremely beneficial treatment for the stresses of traveling. Car rides, train rides, bus transport, travel by boat, and plane are a few of the many modes of transportation through which travelers can voyage. All of these can include cramped spaces, long hours without moving, overall fatigue, and other discomforts. Plane rides, especially, can leave travelers feeling exhausted, stressed, and extremely jet-lagged. As travel increases and more people experience the stressful problems associated with transportation, it’s important to address the common issues of cramping, anxiety, and exhaustion when you decide to go on your next vacation, world travel, or other exciting venture.
Air travel in particular has become even more popular in recent years and can often produce some of the worst consequences, such as jet lag, disorientation, exhaustion, and tension. The first way that massage can greatly improve your condition after plane travel is by improving your sleep, especially if you are in a situation where you change time zones. The number of time zones that an individual travels through increases the length of jet lag symptoms, and considerable differences in time zones can cause travelers to experience disorientation as they try to adjust to a new environment and schedule. Travelers can also suffer from fatigue, insomnia, headaches, swelling, lack of concentration, and memory issues. To improve the chances of avoiding these side effects, look into getting a massage upon reaching your destination. Not only will this make you overall more relaxed, but it can also decrease swelling in your limbs, ease tense muscles, and overall decrease the amount of stress that is associated with traveling.
One of the most difficult things about arriving in a new place, especially in another country, is adjusting to a new lifestyle, time zone, a diverse environment, different food, etc. Traveling is not always easy, nor is it entirely peaceful and fun as we hope it to be. Instead, it can be filled with high-stress situations. I know that I would love a massage after arriving in my new destination, and I would highly recommend that you look into increasing your relaxation, improving your sleep pattern, and relieving stress and tense muscles through a post-travel massage the next time that you decide to voyage to a new destination.

Experience renewal as you spring into chair massage!

Spring is a time of renewal and hope! Now is the time to think about making changes that will allow you to shift old habits into new, productive ones! The same routine day in and day out can get tiring, especially when it comes to your workday. After you’ve spent some time in your current role, you may begin to feel unmotivated and less interested in your job. This is completely normal feeling and something that many workers struggle with, so don’t worry, you’re not alone. This feeling is often a combination of feeling disinterested, uninspired, and unmotivated. When employees have these feelings, productivity for their entire department can plummet. Without everyone putting in their best effort, the amount of work that gets done decreases.
Chair massage in your office can help to alleviate these feelings, lower your stress, and enhance your productivity! Here are some other ideas of small changes you can make to help combat feelings of apathy and lack of motivation in the workplace:
Try new things!
It has been shown that formulating new ideas and trying out new methods in the workplace can help get you back on track and increase interest and enthusiasm in your work. If you are feeling stuck doing the same thing every day, having a new adventure to embark on encourages and empowers you to feel more creative and in control. With these heightened creativity levels, you’ll be more motivated to put effort into your other projects as well. Ultimately, you’ll feel more interested and excited when thinking about work, because flexing your creative muscles and challenging yourself to think and implement strategies that are different your previous routine.
Express your skills!
Each person is uniquely different, and everyone has their own individual set of skills. Some of us are amazing at planning, others at design, and some of us are made to be leaders. Regardless of what position we are in, it’s important to make sure we’re using our skills to our advantage. When you’re working within your personal skill set, your job becomes more purposeful and you become more motivated to take on work that expresses those skills. While many people can tolerate working in different roles, it feels empowering and exciting to be able to express yourself in a role that fits your skill set. You’ll feel better about the work you’re doing and have more inspiration to complete your projects.
It’s important to also find your drive when it comes to working. You can’t expect to be instantly invested in a subject you’re working on, you have to find the angle that allows you to feel interested and driven forwards. By expressing your skills and experimenting with different types of projects, you’ll gain new motivation and confidence in your job. This can increase your own productivity, as well as positively impact the productivity of your workplace as a whole. With productivity levels at an all-time high, you have an opportunity to rest and relax between projects. With these tips, you should find it easier to meet deadlines, and your overall stress levels should decrease considerably.

Benefits of Corporate Chair Massage
Corporate chair massage is an easy and effective wellness program for many small and large companies alike. There are numerous benefits, and many of our clients comment that it lowered their stress and increased their productivity
following their chair massage event.
Corporate chair massage can help to:
- Alleviate pain. Tough knots and unnecessary muscular tension place unwanted pressure on your body and cause pain. Massage helps to loosen these knots to give you more comfort in everyday life.
- Improve posture. Oftentimes, muscles contort in ways that are not healthy for your body and can throw off your posture. By relaxing muscles and easing them into their rightful places, massage can help to fix your slump!
- Sleep more soundly. Corporate chair massage positively affects brain wave activity that helps you sleep better!
- Boost your immunity. Corporate chair massage can improve your white blood cell count, which can improve your body’s ability to fight off infection.
- Fight off headaches. Many headaches and migraines are caused by unwanted pressure in areas of your head, neck, and back. By relaxing these muscles, massage can help to curb your headaches!
- Improve overall body function. Massage helps to improve lymphatic and blood circulation. Because blood carries nutrients all around your body, this helps make your skin—and all of you—healthier overall!
- Increase joint flexibility. Want to move more easily? Massage can reduce stiffness and improve range of motion.
- Combat arthritis. Arthritis patients who get massages regularly experience less physical difficulties than those who do not.

Sugar & the natural high of chair massage!

When it comes to having the energy to get you through the day, you may think of energy drinks or other substances that are loaded with sugar to give you an energy boost. While sugar does give you that extra little boost of hyper energy, it is not actually very beneficial. After that initial sugar high, many people experience something known as a sugar crash, which feels like all your energy goes right down the drain, making you tired and disinterested in what you were previously doing. It’s important to implement healthier habits throughout the day to give you energy, including being mindful of your sugar intake.
Ketchup + Other Sauces
One of America’s favorite sauces to use is Ketchup. This is a staple item in the food industry. Whether you’re out to eat or you’re cooking burgers and hot dogs on the grill for a barbecue night, ketchup is almost always involved. Something you may not realize when you dip your fries into that tomato-y goodness is that, on average, one tablespoon contains 4g of sugar. That sugar isn’t just hiding in ketchup either, but in a lot of other common condiments that we don’t normally think of as “sweet”. A serving of barbecue sauce for example can contain around 8.5g of sugar. The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 25g of sugar per day, so those condiments are already cutting into a huge chunk of your daily sugar intake, and you’re not even onto dessert yet!
Processed Fruit
When it comes to a nice bowl of oatmeal in the morning, you may be tempted to add cherries or pears from a jar, which contain that sweet syrupy sauce. Many of us may be led to think that the liquid in canned/jarred fruit is natural sugar from the fruit itself, when in reality, the sugar and syrup are added to improve the taste. It is still possible to get amazing-tasting foods with fruits, if you opt for fresh or frozen fruit over canned. By using a medley of fresh fruits in your bowl of oatmeal, not only will they taste fresher, but the sugar content will be significantly lower. Make sure you are still mindful of portions, though; too much of any sugar is not the best for your health.
Alternative Energy Boosts
When it comes down to it, you are not going to give up sugar completely. Sugar is in just about everything we consume throughout the day. It is, however, still important to watch what you eat and make sure you don’t go too overboard in one day. So enjoy that slice of cake, but maybe skip the ice cream on the side. The small choices you make will help your body look and feel better in the long run.
