Fall into chair massage and Autumn organization!
Today is the FIRST day of Autumn. As you all know, 2020 has been unlike any year by FAR! Fall has begun and out in the corporate world, it’s more than just pumpkins and Halloween, there are many things that go into this season like chair massage, long walks, and getting ready for the holidays!.
Corporate business is booming this time of year and things such as deadlines and workload may be roaming around in your head constantly. Early mornings lead into long days sitting in your home office and THAT can definitely put a damper on your fall spirit.
Don’t stress! I’ve compiled a nice little list of things you can do that will help get rid of that summer fatigue!
Organization is key.
Time management helps with making sure your workspace is neat and organized is such an important aspect of keeping yourself in a positive mood. Folders and Binders are very helpful in keeping all of your information in one place, but there’s something that many people seem to be forgetting. Labels, Labels, Labels. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be stuck looking through papers in a folder, trying to find that one paper. By making sure everything you own is organized with labels, you can eliminate this stress as a whole. You can go with simple labels, or go into crazy amounts of subcategories, the possibilities are endless, whatever it takes to make sure you can find the thing you need as quickly as possible.
Save the date!
As the week goes on, you may want to get yourself a calendar with a large amount of space. It is imperative that you write down important work meetings, zoom calls, (old fashioned) conference calls, and everything you must be informed of on that date. I personally think you shouldn’t just stop there, you might as well make sure you mark every key event you need to know. Son’s soccer game? Mark it down. With our calendars bare compared to prior years, it is fun to make a plan for a socially distanced event with our neighbors, right? Mark it down.
Keeping your work calendar on top of your personal calendar in the same space has been known to give you a better understanding of how your week is going. If you see that you have to be at your daughter’s dance recital at 7 on Tuesday and you have a big workload, you might want to put in the extra hours on Monday to ensure you can finish and go. Planning ahead is major and helps keep a clearer headspace knowing that you won’t be missing out on anything.
Wellness
It is also in your best interest to put your personal wellness high up on your chart of priorities. Make sure you aren’t letting your stress build up without a way to release the tension. Schedule your wellness programs in the office NOW. YOUR chair massage company in Maryland, Corporate Massage Kneads, will have a turn-key program to allow for chair massage for your special event!
Mobile chair massage, chair yoga, and other wellness programs enhance productivity throughout the day and week. The benefits of mobile chair massage are many including increased productivity, improved mental acuity, decreased stress, decreased absenteeism due to stress-related illnesses along with fewer aches and pains from prolonged sitting.
Corporate Massage Kneads hopes to see you BACK in the office when safe for ALL. With experienced and talented mobile chair massage therapists, we are rested AND hope to work again (sooner vs. later!)
Four tips for your muscles! Chair massage can help.
These days are unlike any we have seen before. Personally, I see many people outside enjoying the fresh air to clear their minds of worry and stress. My personal commitment is to walk 5 miles a day which has led to muscle fatigue and strain. The temptation is to work through it and ignore it if you are like me and many others. The goal is to keep the exercise in place while working through muscle fatigue and strain. Chair massage can help to keep you and your staff active!
Some ignore the pain, and after a bit of “resting,” they hop back up and act like their muscle is as good as new. That sort of reaction could be extremely detrimental to your injury; it could turn a simple wrong turn into chronic pain, or it could make a serious injury even more intense and cause permanent damage. Most don’t know what is the correct reaction, and many are completely unaware of what they should do next. So, what should you do?
First of all, directly after the injury occurs, immediate first aid is important. This can be completed by following the R.I.C.E formula for recovery:
“R” stands for resting. Resting the damaged area significantly depletes the chance of further injury and reduces the strain on the joint in pain. Not only will it help with the sharp pain, but it could save you weeks to months of further recovery by not stressing the injured muscle more.
“I” stands for ice. Placing ice on the injury slows blood flow to the area, and therefore allows for less swelling and (in cases of open wounds) bleeding. Also, it can help with pain and inflammation.
“C” represents compression. Compression means wrapping the area of injury so that it has extra support. Compressing the damaged area reduces swelling in the hurt area and keeps it stiff and in place, which could also prevent further injury when in movement.
“E” stands for elevation. Once resting, wrapped, and iced, place the injured area above the level of your heart so that your heart is forced to pump blood upwards. By doing this, you reduce blood flow to the damaged area and swelling.
It is important to apply ice to the injury within the first 48-72 hours after the injury, and after the first 48-72 hours, it can be helpful to apply heat to increase circulation and allow more blood to flow to the injured area. Never apply ice or heat for longer than 30 minutes at a time, with a frequency of application of about 3-5 times per day.
Treat your muscles well and make sure that you handle your injuries with the proper care that could prevent further damage and ease the pain.
Do you have muscle pain? Do many people in your office suffer from muscle injuries or general tightness? Did you know that a mobile chair massage is an excellent form of treatment for joint inflammation and muscle irritation?

“Happy” is a mobile chair massage!
Summer is soon over and the cooler temps of Fall begin. This proves to be refreshing to me as we cycle through the calendar and move on each day towards healthy living in spite of the current environment that we ALL face.
Current times are trying both mentally and physically. Now is the time to settle your mind and help to navigate these troubled waters. Whenever you have a bad day or week, it is all-too-easy to get sucked into a vortex of negative emotions. Sadness can be hard to dismiss, and when you are having an off day, it can sometimes feel like the end of the world. Each day offers a fresh new start and new activities that bring joy and meaning to your life. Here are some ideas to change the attitude and possibly brighten your day.
Here are some good tips to escape the negativity and turn your day onto a more positive note:
1. Don’t beat yourself up. When you’re feeling down, instead of getting frustrated with your negative emotions and feeling guilty for having a bad day, recognize that everyone has them and give yourself some grace. Accept that every day is not perfect (most days aren’t), but every day has an ending and you can start fresh the following morning.
2. Buy your favorite meal/snack. Some find that buy an occasional treat outside of the house makes for a better solution and it’s a “one and done” serving. Once you’ve accepted that a day isn’t really “your day,” take action towards making yourself feel better. Do you want French fries? Find the nearest and favorite fast food restaurant. Buy that ice cream that you have been craving for a week. A little treat could make a huge difference and give you a nice boost to get through the rest of the day.
3. Get moving. Work out. Exercise. Endorphins are wonderful, and when you work out and exercise your muscles, these “happy hormones” can significantly improve your mood and state of mind. Sometimes the last thing on earth that sounds appealing is exercise (especially when your day has been less than satisfactory). However, if you can muster the energy and determination, I guarantee that a nice walk, short-run, relaxing swim, etc. could leave your body feeling better and your mood much improved.
4. Surround yourself with people that you love. It can be tempting to be alone when in a bad mood, but nine times out of ten, being alone will probably only make you feel worse. Call up your friend, have a nice phone conversation with your brother, or make a visit to see your parents. Company and community can be a great way to get out of a “funk,” so try to avoid secluding yourself and surround yourself with people who love you.
5. Treat yourself! You deserve it. Whether it’s a small vacation, a wonderful meal, a fun activity, a small present to yourself, or schedule a chair massage, be nice to yourself. You’ll thank yourself later. Everyone has bad days. The best thing that you can do is to accept it, don’t worry, and do things to make yourself happy. Mobile chair massage at work is often requested and preferred!

Tips to reduce posture problems + chair massage

With COVID, so many things have changed! We all know this and probably feel this when working more hours in our makeshift home offices. As I am not actively working now offering chair massage in corporate offices, I find my body aches a little more from sitting!
Here are some ergonomic tips to reduce the stress and strain on your body. Sitting happens so changing our daily practices and posture can help.
- Take little breaks more often Little breaks throughout the day add up by the end of each day and week. Set your phone to include mini-breaks in the morning, at lunch, and mid-afternoon.
- Increase your cardio With increased sitting the effects are much worse if not balanced with some sort of cardio activities. Compounded with closed gyms and more work at home, it takes effort and commitment to keep your body moving. With the warmer summer temps, maybe stroll outside for 15 minutes per day OR take the stairs in an office building OR change the habit from taking the elevator to steps. Probably a better idea anyway during these COVID days.
- Change your posture While at work, sit straight up in your chair with your feet flat on the floor. While relaxing and watching tv, lean back while stretching your legs and neck to a forward position. While in the car, scoot your seat up closer to the wheel and sit upright with your chin slightly down. All these MINOR adjustments can have MAJOR advantages when experiencing less back and neck strain.
Corporate Massage Kneads welcomes the day when we can all safely go back to work and enjoy coffee talk with long lost office mates, large office spaces, AND onsite chair massage. With 14 years of experience in setting up wellness programs, we are here to help schedule a special event when welcoming your office workers BACK to the office!

19 years of offering mobile chair massage!
As of August 23rd, 2020. I celebrate 19 years as a graduate of The Atlanta School of Massage! When deciding to leave my lucrative medical sales job, I felt the excitement to choose a trade that used my hands and my business knowledge to offer relaxation and stress relief to my future clients. With the support of my husband, Jim, family, and friends, I jumped into applying to the school and prepared for my interview with admissions. Success! In December 2000, I was accepted into the program with a January 2001 school start date. The realization that school was full-time and required lots of studying set in. Little did I know that I would open a business offering chair massage in Maryland in 2006!
Deciding to commit to a full-time program of 720 hours of body and schoolwork was one of the best I had made in my career.
Looking back, it was an easy decision as I was always a massage seeker opting for massage in foreign cities when I traveled for work vs. long corporate-sponsored dinners and drinks. It was healthier and felt better the next day!
Massage offers flexibility and immediate gratification from clients who seek services along with a unique understanding of the body and the movement of the muscles.
Since 2001, I have fine-tuned my skills for on-site chair massage as many clients sought this type of bodywork due to limited time and financial resources. My massage career drastically improved when I started Corporate Massage Kneads in October 2006.
The years have rolled by and I am filled with gratitude to have chosen this massage as my life’s work. My company, Massage Kneads, continues to push me to exceed the client’s expectations of me and others who work with me.
Many therapists who work with my company have been licensed for many years and bring stress relief to each client in a short amount of time when offering corporate chair massage. They are an extension of me and always bring their best work to every corporate on-site chair massage event.
Upon doing research, I was curious why others like myself chose massage therapy. The results are interesting as I profile these independent thinkers and workers like me!
Many modern-day massage therapists have chosen massage as their second career as it offers flexibility and a decent hourly rate. This was especially appealing to me when newly married and ready to start a family.
The AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) website indicates massage therapists are typically female with a median age of 45.
Interestingly, this same site indicates that massage therapy is a growing industry with $12.1 billion in sales for massage and related massage products. The primary reasons to receive a massage include soreness/stiffness, pain management relief, injury recovery, health and wellness, control for headaches, and relaxation. This shows promise to therapists who have committed to the trade with an additional cost of massage school for their chosen second career.
Wellness programs are “in” now as the public and large corporations seek on-site chair massage, chair yoga, stretching, and exercise as a cornerstone for increasing productivity, aging well, and stress reduction.
With promise, I am hopeful that massage therapy will continue to grow and continue to become more mainstream in the future. It has been estimated that 39.1 million Americans (18%) have enjoyed a massage at least once from 2014 to 2015.
This client testimonial (pre-COVID) continues to validate the importance of offering on-site corporate chair massage in large and small corporate offices!
“I am so glad our company makes this available on-site. Sitting at a desk 8+ hours a day takes a toll on our muscles and just 15 minutes with the therapist makes a world of difference. I was hesitant at first about giving up my time in fear of losing valuable production time, but in turn, it has helped my alertness and production many times over. Well worth the investment. Thanks to Janet, she is an angel in disguise! ”
With hope and gratitude, Massage Kneads asks that you consider selecting us as your chosen chair massage provider when the time is RIGHT for all to return to the office. Corporate Massage Kneads has the experience to help you with all your corporate “kneads.”
Corporate chair massage is easy to schedule with employer OR employee-paid programs. Schedule your corporate on-site chair massage program today by simply contacting me, Janet Constantino, CEO of Corporate Massage Kneads. I can be reached at 410-989-3577.
Escape. Experience. Enjoy.
Three EASY ways to Stay Current & Connected as a LMT

-
Sign up for Continuing Education classes. In order to stay current, massage therapists must invest time and energy to learn advanced skills and techniques for their practice. This shows pride in your work and can set you apart from others in the field. New classes are more common including Thai massage, Reflexology, Sports Massage, etc.
-
Join social media chat groups in your area, state, and nationwide. Therapists are typically kind and generous in spirit. With this reasoning, many therapists are online and actively sharing thoughts and ideas now more than ever with the COVID virus. We must remain flexible with our business plans and adjust and adapt to the new guidelines when treating clients. How are you navigating these uncertain times? What is your plan to move forward for the remainder of 2020?
-
Increase your presence online and in your marketplace. This summer is an excellent time to take a broad view of your business with new ideas to bring clients back. When was the last time you updated your website and social media platforms? Have you been in touch with your clients during these stressful times? Being in touch provides comfort and assurance for the clients that have supported us through it all. One idea would be to offer health tips that can be done at home as many are working virtually this summer.
