Thankful for on-site chair massage!
Yes, it’s that time of year again; the holiday season is finally here. With all the fun and happiness that comes with the
most wonderful time of the year, in comes the annual battle many of us have to face. How can we maintain our health, fitness, and sanity in the midst of all the wonderful treats and chaos? You’ve worked so hard the past 10 months to keep your wellness goals; why throw it all away now? Unfortunately, that’s what too many people do – working hard to eat right, work out, keep stress low, and optimize their wellness for most of the year, only to hit pause once November hits. Holiday party planning is in FULL SWING! Contact us to help organize your onsite chair massage event for your staff!
But that doesn’t have to be your future reality, because you’ve invested too much in yourself to give up now. There are many ways to fight back against the “unhealthy holidays.” Stick to the health regime you’ve followed the past few months these holidays or if you haven’t started your journey to wellness, start now! After all, you’re worth it!
Usually, the issue with the holiday season is all of the excess or the temptation of excess. That’s particularly true when it comes to food, which can turn ugly and sabotage your health efforts if you don’t rein it in. With Thanksgiving in the coming weeks, keep in mind that moderation is the key, and the way to achieve moderation is to go to Thanksgiving and every other holiday meal with a plan: less is more. If you don’t pile on the food, there is a higher chance of waking up relaxed, feeling great about yourself, not overstuffed, and unmotivated.
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, stress can overwhelm even the best of us. And when we’re stressed, we’re prone to comfort activities, which can lead to poor eating and the halt of our fitness routine. Unlike the situation with the holiday parties, in this case, more is less. The more you stay true to your regular wellness regime, the less stress you’ll feel, providing some much-needed stress relief. Another way to aid in stress relief is to consider making a massage appointment! On-site corporate chair massage allows employers to provide their employees with much-needed relaxation during the holiday season, with the convenience of massage therapists coming directly to the office!
Maryland’s onsite chair massage company, Corporate Massage Kneads’ client said it best with this testimonial!
“The massage was great. I would recommend the 30 minutes as it gives you that time really to relax and enjoy the massage. The therapist provided detailed information and was very aligned with what I needed in my massage. I was more relaxed when I left and it also helped me get a great night’s sleep. I will be back.”
Maryland’s premier onsite chair massage company since 2006 is Corporate Massage Kneads! We provide many varieties of massage and wellness programs that can fit whatever particular “kneads” you have!

A lesson in receiving & mobile chair massage
Life is curious. I am still surprised by the little lessons I learn each day. In the past, I have had TMJ aches which I often try to ignore. This situation flared up and the pain started innocently as I was biting into an apple while working earlier in June. Instead of disregarding this pain, as usual, I opted to take note, get a referral, and make an appointment with my doctor to get some pain relief. I sometimes hear that sense of urgency from my mobile chair massage clients in Maryland. I felt confident and happy going in to see a local, experienced physical therapist to aid with my aching jaw. The first 50 minutes were a breeze with a qualified and very capable PT working on all affected areas.
As I gathered my things to exit the office space, the PT asked me to sit down and inquired if there was any feedback–good, bad, or otherwise–for her. I indicated I was pleased and already felt so much better. She asked me to sit for a minute and proceeded to discuss with me the difference between being the receiver of work and always being the giver of work. She (somewhat sternly) told me that it is very important to be still and quiet while receiving her bodywork and again to note the importance of receiving versus giving. She went on to explain that restfully receiving bodywork is an important step to the ultimate goal of healing and wellness. This conversation made me think. I told her I would take her advice into consideration for our next appointment in two weeks.
Since then, I have thought about this and many other encounters with others in my profession. I now see and hear what she was saying when I had time to digest the golden truth of her advice.
Upon further reflection, I do believe her words to be true and am so grateful for this encounter. She was doing her job with good intentions at heart–furthering my healing and wellness.
So many times when offering mobile massage work, I do my best to ease those aching muscles and offer suggestions to those that come in for chair massage. Prior to any massage, I typically inform the client that I prefer not to talk but to work steadily and at the moment offer all the gifts that I have. I will often not encourage dialogue to hold true to myself and my chosen work.
As healing is a process, we all “knead” to be still, quiet, and a frequent “receiver” to ensure that the healing process can begin.
Here is one client that is confident that regularly scheduled mobile chair massage is making a difference in wellness! See our testimonials!
5 STARS! Relaxing and Pleasant (pre-COVID)
“Professional and very relaxing. I am having it every 2 weeks once and it helped me a lot with neck pain. My neck tightness got better in a day after massage and getting better on every visit.”
With reviews like this one, I will continue to work all summer long with those that CHOSE healing in a quiet space.

Work-life can be super demanding. Offering mobile chair massage is NOT! Deadlines, meetings, work, people on edge, and much more can create the “perfect storm” of stress that can leave you dreading your daily commute to the office. I’m sure that I don’t have to make an argument for why work can be personally taxing (as you have probably experienced it at some point in your life), but I would like to create a small list of possible ways to maintain a positive outlook that could make all the difference in your personal work experience.
- Take responsibility for your mental and physical health. Do not push yourself beyond your limits. Give yourself breaks and grant yourself grace on days when you might not be functioning to your full capability. Everyone has off days. Don’t beat yourself up and relax when your body is clearly communicating that you need to just stop, breathe, and rest.
- Avoid falling into a “pit” of pessimism. When you start thinking negatively and begin to feel like everything is chaotic, stop yourself and re-assess the situation. Don’t get sucked into the thought processes that could leave you coating everything in a tint of negativity. Most likely, it will work out. You will move on. And re-evaluating the situation could lead to a new outlook and a potential solution that you hadn’t previously considered.
- Try new methods of communication. One of the most prevalent stresses for any environment is miscommunication and the lack of a clear exchange of meaning between 2 parties. Don’t lose hope if your point was not understood. Instead, try again through different tactics and try to handle the matter by discussing it with new words and in a different manner.
- Do something nice for someone else. Multiple studies have shown that selfless care for others produces positive emotional results in the do-gooder. Not only will a nice action towards a fellow co-worker make their day, but also it will likely leave you feeling uplifted and more positive overall. Buy them a coffee, take them out to lunch, help them with extra work, or just give them a friendly smile and ask them how their day is going. Relationships can be extremely encouraging when stress seems to have taken over, and if you can surpass the stress in your life and reach out to someone else, you can create a situation that is win-win for both you and the person to whom you reach out.
The work environment can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. It can also be a wonderful and positive place for encouragement, friendship, and positive experiences. If you are looking to create a more positive work environment and relieve stress while also creating a more optimistic atmosphere, try bringing in a massage therapist and treating your fellow workers to a much-needed chair massage. Not only will your fellow workers feel better, but also it could improve the well-being of you and your fellow employees and could ultimately leave people ready and rearing to go to work every day.
Corporate Massage Kneads is ready to visit your corporate office for your next workplace wellness event. We would love to work with you to create a more relaxing and stress-free environment in your office! Contact CEO Janet Constantino today at 410-989-3577!
What to expect from on-site mobile chair massage!
Any business offering a service has to excel with the highest level of customer service to retain and grow its business. Following COVID, many businesses
(especially fast food locations) are suffering when hiring workers to match their levels of service! Corporate Massage Kneads has been following ALL COVID guidelines when offering mobile chair massage.
Pre-COVID, service was rarely an issue when working with local banks, grocery stores, and other common-day businesses. Post-COVID, many feel that service levels are not the same due to low staff, possible limited inventory, etc. This realization came into clear focus last week when trying to get a business document together. When calling my local bank, it took several attempts to complete a relatively easy task pre-COVID. The bank hours are different now with no lobby services from 1 pm until 3 pm each business day. The manager has a two to three-day wait to schedule an appointment. Once the appointment was confirmed for Friday afternoon, she suggested she did not have time to see me and that our appointment should not have been scheduled. What? I left with no resolution and was annoyed that she wasted my time with her attitude and lack of interest. From start to finish, the experience was frustrating and of little value considering my time and effort.
I hope those that interact with my company, Corporate Massage Kneads, have that same impression from start to finish. My vision is to exceed expectations with every client interaction before, during, and following any on-site corporate chair massage event.
Since 2006, my on-site chair massage company based in Maryland offers chair massage for any type of corporate event.
As a licensed massage therapist myself since 2001, Corporate Massage Kneads has the expertise and credentials to offer corporate on-site chair massage. As a chair massage business for the past 10 years, Corporate Massage Kneads has offered corporate chair massage and other wellness programs to new and returning clients year after year in the local area.
With tenured massage therapists offering corporate chair massage, Massage Kneads would offer the perfect fit for your wellness “kneads.” All therapists hired by Massage Kneads have local state licensing, insurance, and an average of 7+ years with this specific type of work.
This is important to note as the business is run by a nationally certified massage therapist (with 15 years of experience) who is experienced with all details of organizing and scheduling corporate on-site chair massage wellness events.
Chair massage therapists’ skills differ from table massage therapists with tempo (different strokes), limited area of concentration (to the head, neck, and shoulder areas) along with time constraints to allow for maximum results for increased productivity and lower stress while working in a shortened time period. All my therapists are experienced in this arena as we have offered corporate chair massage to a variety of businesses and corporations for many years now.
As your chosen vendor for massage wellness events, Corporate Massage Kneads has all documentation to move forward for this type of program.
Please see the supporting details and documentation information below:
- Documentation (license, insurance, and a resume) for each assigned chair massage therapist upon request
- Massage Kneads’ Liability Releases that are signed by each employee (which also protects your organization)
- A signup sheet is used to schedule employee massages OR an automated scheduling program that allows the employees to sign up for their time slot
- A corporate contract that details your event, pricing, your confirmed therapist/s, etc.
- W-9 tax form which is often requested by accounting
Many clients have commented that working with Massage Kneads allows for easy scheduling and a turnkey operation and wellness program.
Corporate Massage Kneads continues to build our client base one massage at a time. This testimonial says it all!
5 Stars! For Chair Massage
“I had a chair massage from Janet. I thought she was extremely pleasant, professional, and helpful. Not only was the massage extremely relaxing, but she was also able to work out knots in my shoulder that was always there due to working on the computer so much. I plan to go back for massages on a monthly basis.”

World Vegetarian Day, October 1st!

It is World Vegetarian Day which is celebrated by the North American Vegetarian Society. Many options for healthy living can be also included in your work environment. Chair massage for local events is always an option!
The event highlights the benefits and serves as a reminder “to promote the joy, compassion, and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism.[1]“[1]
The annual date brings increased awareness of the ethical, environmental, health, and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle.
A Harvard publication (Harvard’s Women’s Health Watch) notes a rise in the popularity of vegetarianism. “Today, six to eight million adults in the United States eat no meat, fish, or poultry, according to a Harris Interactive poll commissioned by the Vegetarian Resource Group, a nonprofit organization that disseminates information about vegetarianism. Several million more have eliminated red meat but still eat chicken or fish. About two million have become vegans, forgoing not only animal flesh but also animal-based products such as milk, cheese, eggs, and gelatin.”[2]
Others chose to choose one day of eating no meat such as “meatless Monday.” Large retail grocery chains are bringing more options for meals that do not include meat such as tofu, beans, and eggs for other protein options. There are various websites that promote this movement by including meals that can be enjoyed throughout the day but do not include any meat. Some tasty options include breakfast lentils on toast, bell pepper breakfast burritos, or a fresh seasonal dinner of black beans, corn, and pumpkin risotto.[3]
Studies have shown many benefits including lowering the risk of heart disease, cancer, and Type 2 diabetes. For this reason, a minor change (i.e. – one day of not eating meat) may bring better health and longevity.
Fall is the season to come indoors and allow your creative juices to flow inside the kitchen with protein sources that do not have to include meat! Bon appétit!

Tips to transition back to the office with chair massage!
With COVID, we all seem to be considering whether it is time to get back into the office. Many companies have started to have employees go back to work either on a part-time or full-time basis. Special events that include chair massage help!
What is the best way to manage all this change? Here are some ideas that may help YOU and others transition back to work on-site.
FACE TIME: One major concern is that many are not back in the office although the boss is. How does that impact you and your workload? One solution is to schedule more time with your boss which allows for more visibility. The best way to do this is to have a standing regular appointment to review progress, projects, and lingering issues.
RESPONSIVENESS. Be the first to respond. One trick I read is to set up a mail rule that will forward any email from a VIP to your mobile device which will tag and update you as soon as correspondence arrives. This shows interest and consideration for the topic at hand.
ENGAGE WITH OTHERS. Reach out to others that you do know as well as those that you do not. With social media and all the outlets of communication now, it should be easier to support one another. Plus, it builds morale during these sometimes challenging days!
SCHEDULE OR SUGGEST A WELLNESS PROGRAM. Pre-COVID, wellness activities were game-changers to entice and retain employees. All progressive companies want top-notch talent and wellness programs to help to retain employees. Zoom yoga, cooking classes, and game nights are more popular now vs. the days before COVID. On-site change massage service requests are picking up with offering chair massage. Some clients have pop-up tents onsite to stage chair massage events to protect them from the heat or cold. The benefits of chair massage are many including reducing blood pressure, improving joint and muscle aches, Employers benefit as when employees feel better, they often work better. Think about reducing absenteeism, improving morale, and goodwill, lowering healthcare costs, etc.
