Mobile Chair Massage; the Best office resolution 2020!

With a NEW YEAR and a decade upon us, many begin to think of resolutions for the year 2020, many people make similar goals: get organized, become successful, earn more money, etc. So many of these New Year’s resolutions are aimed at creating a less stressful existence through “fixing” crazy aspects of life and resolving to become a better version of yourself. Instead of trying to “re-create” yourself, why not treat yourself in the new year with a belated Christmas present that will leave you feeling relaxed, less stressed, and ready to tackle the New Year? Here are some reasons why you should look into incorporating a mobile chair massage into your office environment in the New Year:

  1. After the holiday rush, full of family, friends, and lots of food, many workers will return to the office feeling worn out, unmotivated, and consumed by an after-Christmas slump. While being with family and lots of company can often be exciting and fun, many workers might not feel particularly rested after the busy season of shopping, gifts, and feasts. A corporate chair massage might be just the solution to rejuvenate them and stir excitement among the employees to return to work.
  2. What better way to kick start the New Year than showing your fellow workers how much you value them? Instead of inciting stress and pushing the employees towards neck aches, headaches, and tension, many might really benefit from corporately provided mobile chair massages that could make them less stressed and ultimately more productive and beneficial to the company.
  3. As many people make resolutions to join a gym, earn a promotion, fall in love, and more, the gift of relaxation might be a nice break from the all-too-popular goals that have so many people trying to become better versions of themselves. Especially if many of your workers are beginning to work out more, a chair massage might be a great treat for their sore muscles (for more information, see my previous blog Recover from Your Workout with Massage).
  4. Large quantities of food, lots of time around big groups of people, and the crazy hustle and bustle during the Christmas season can often lead to headaches from unaddressed tension and stress. Not only can chair massage help with tension from working out and tight muscles, but it can also help with migraines and head pain. Providing corporate chair massage could not only be a nice benefit for relaxing, but it could also alleviate head pain that could be inhibiting work and everyday functioning (for more information, see Massage Relieves Headaches).

Bring in the New Year with a belated Christmas surprise that will make your workers more motivated and excited to return to the office.

Show them appreciation, provide relaxation, and make the start of New Year a beginning that your fellow workers will appreciate and love by scheduling a massage or wellness program to come to YOUR office.

How big is the massage chair?

Organizing a wellness event with mobile chair massage is a VERY rewarding job for Corporate Massage Kneads!  We enjoy the satisfaction of working with companies to put together a wellness program that will allow for much relaxation and ultimately more productivity for those working day in and day out at a desk.

Many Human Resources administrators commonly ask these questions:

How big is the massage chair? The link below shows the size and dimensions of the chair!

What size space is optimal for this program?

Answer: The massage chair is similar in size to a desk chair. In order for therapists to work effectively and efficiently for the BEST massage possible, we like to have full access around the chair with a few paces around to access all the anatomy including the head, neck, shoulders, and back!

The time spent is minimal compared to the benefits of massage which include:

Increased morale and productivity.
When Fortune magazine featured the best 100 companies to work for in America, they emphasized corporate perks like massage. These benefits were shown to empower workers and positively affect the success of the business. The Gallup poll summarized that “employee attitudes correlate strongly with higher profits.”

Relief of stress and fatigue.
On-site massage is an energizing massage, but it also relaxes the muscles and soothes the spirit. Workers surveyed by Time Magazine preferred massage over coffee breaks!

Massage opens the mind and increases alertness.
Massage clears thinking and releases the individual’s innate creativity. “A fifteen-minute massage increases alertness and performance,” reports Dr. Tiffany Fields in Life.

Massage increases brain power and sharpens the senses.
The Miami Research Institute of Florida reported that office workers who were massaged completed a math test more quickly and with fewer errors!

Is your business environment in need of some stress relief, wellness, AND productivity? Optimize health in your office and bring Corporate Massage Kneads into your office for some “kneaded” stress relief.

Massage Kneads, an onsite mobile chair massage company, says “bye bye” to 2018!

mobile chair massage

With the end of 2018, I find myself enjoying the holiday season with family, friends, and neighbors this year. It was a year full of highs and lows and yet there are always lessons to be learned!

As a seasoned massage therapist, I have enjoyed working with others in my chosen field.  We all have the same goals in mind which are to offer the best mobile chair massage to each client that we work on!

This is how year after year, Massage Kneads is fortunate to have so many returning clients year after year to enjoy receiving chair massages from Maryland’s premier on-site chair massage company, Corporate Massage Kneads.

I continue to learn about clients large and small, through both standard and unusual requests for massage.  More clients are requesting different opportunities for massage; some monthly, quarterly, or during their annual holiday parties.

These corporate chair massage clients, along with home-based massage table client requests, keep me active and interested in continuing to exceed expectations throughout the year for every client interaction.  As you probably already know, chair massage differs from table massage as time is limited, pressure has to be exact to the client’s preference (light, medium, or firm), and the environment is serene without too much chatter and talk.

Here are some lessons and reminders learned from 2018:

  • Corporate chair massage requests are more mainstream now versus when we started in 2006.
  • Clients always know what they “knead” and want during a chair massage. We do our best to honor their wishes, along with the signals that we pick up when working on them. Sometimes the body tells a different story altogether! We just need to keep asking “What hurts and why?”
  • Keeping our hourly pricing modest for on-site chair massage allows for the benefit for many employees, versus only those who earn a higher salary
  • Mobile chair massage therapists in Maryland typically prefer and enjoy this bodywork due to the variety of locations and direct contact with various employees within local large and small corporations
  • Local therapists who work with Massage Kneads are always keen to go the extra mile for our clients, and for that, I am most grateful, and for so many other reasons this past year
  • With so many areas of interest in the massage field, we as therapists can easily create or re-create a specialty as the business possibilities are endless
  • By focusing more on my business to offer primarily  corporate chair massage, my sales cycle is shorter and more profitable
  • Many “veteran” clients have used our services for years and have expanded their wellness programs for the following reasons: stress relief and relaxation following a busy season, a thank you in appreciation for a job well done, or to promote health and wellness within the office

I am always thrilled with new reviews based on brief yet meaningful interactions with employees following a 15-minute or 30-minute chair massage.

This recent 5-star testimonial was just received late last week, as the employee sought an on-site chair massage after a busy week heading into the Christmas break.

Reviews like this one are so appreciated and valued as I head into my 17th year of offering chair massages. Owning my business, Corporate Massage Kneads, has been the most enriching work and the best profession EVER!

16 years of gratitude as a mobile chair massage therapist

ONE happy graduate!

Many people celebrate many things: birthdays, anniversaries, their kids, and associated milestones.  These celebrations highlight the importance of our cherished life and the passing of time.  Every August, I too celebrate my anniversary of becoming a mobile chair massage therapist.

Sixteen years ago, I graduated from The Atlanta School of Massage (ASM) where I learned so much about my newly chosen profession, the gift of giving a massage, and about myself. My prior work life was fulfilling in a different way. I was in medical sales and constantly working to meet and exceed my ever-growing quota. It was fun and exciting in my younger years.  In the corporate world, I learned to grow professionally with others; other sales professionals, internal staff, and mature and savvy medical customers.  I was young, energetic, and busy learning to navigate how to best use the skills learned in college while receiving my business management degree.

Deciding to complete the Neuromuscular Massage Therapy program at ASM, I learned more about how to best solve physical and medical concerns while growing my skills and trade beyond what I thought possible. Early on, we were told that we too could palpate muscle tightness through our hands and even our elbows. Impossible I thought! Now, it is a given and trusted skill after years of working when offering hours of mobile chair massage each week.

Through the gentle guidance from compassionate teachers and fellow therapists, we grew both personally and professionally each day.

The testing and practical exams were stressful throughout the 720 hours of training when asked to demonstrate our newly acquired knowledge and practical skills. This testing often pushed us to demonstrate our personal best in the pursuit of bettering our skills while still supporting and encouraging client healing in a likely one-hour session.

Here is what I have learned in the past 16 years!

  1. Listen more and talk less during massage
  2. Trade work is so enriching and fulfilling and should be encouraged in local high schools
  3. Remember that not all medical issues can be “fixed” within a few massage sessions
  4. The power of touch is often underestimated
  5. Exceed expectations in every massage session
  6. Continue hands-on training to better your skills
  7. Always accept responsibility for your actions and those that work with you
  8. Work with and hire therapists that best represent your company to all he/she may encounter
  9. Bring solutions and new ideas to clients to help them feel better
  10. Bring solutions and new ideas to corporate clients to assist with their wellness program(s)
  11. Be honest and upfront with expectations with clients and therapists alike
  12. Always try your best when working with clients that suffer from chronic medical concerns
  13. Smile with your eyes!
  14. Continue to thank both large and small clients for their continued business
  15. Hire out the work that does not best suit your skills i.e. accounting and tax work!
  16. To be gentle with my hands as they are my special tools that bring personal and professional enrichment

This review from a mobile chair massage client was received earlier this summer.  Reviews like this one make every day worth more than what I earn and then some!

Awesome!!!! 5 stars!

“Janet has magical hands!!! Thank you so much for a terrific massage – such a wonderful break in my day.”

Here’s hoping for another few years to further my trade when offering mobile chair massage!
