Workplace & mobile chair massage affects health
Now that October is finally here and we are in the swing of Fall, we want to reiterate the importance of health in the workplace. There are a lot of ways to enhance workplace wellness, and the one we specialize in is offering mobile chair massage!
It is increasingly recognized that workplaces can have a powerful effect on individuals’ health. When employees are satisfied with their jobs, they are more productive, happier, and tend to be healthier as well. When employees feel that their work environment is negative or unsupportive, they feel increasingly stressed. Stress has a large impact on employees’ mental and physical health, and in turn, their output and productivity.
Companies that want to attract and maintain their good employees have leaders who understand the connection between employee satisfaction and employee health. They understand that workplace wellness is a business strategy that keeps their team functioning in optimum performance. These management practices include making reasonable demands on time and energy, involving employees in decision-making, rewarding work well done, openly communicating, and providing support to balance work and home life. The underlying idea is that companies must genuinely care about the well-being of their employees.
Employers know that workers are looking for jobs that pay well, have good benefits, are interesting, and include excellent health and work/life programs. In today’s competitive hiring market, it’s become more important than ever for companies to enhance job satisfaction and ensure that workers enjoy being on the job.
How does workplace wellness benefit the employer?
A workplace wellness initiative can help a company to:
- Attract and retain employees;
- Reduce the costs of disability, substance abuse, and absenteeism;
- Reduce the effects of a stressful workplace
- Reduce health costs or keep them contained; and
- Improve morale by creating a happy, supportive environment.
How does workplace wellness benefit employees?
Employees of companies that have a workplace wellness program are likely to have:
- Increased awareness and knowledge of ways to improve their health;
- A better (less stressful) workplace;
- Increased protection from injury;
- Improved health and well-being;
- Higher morale and greater job satisfaction;
- Increased productivity and effectiveness at work;
- Reduced personal health care costs; and
- A more relaxed/flexible approach to health issues.
Both employers and employees have a responsibility for creating a healthy workplace. Employees are expected to arrive at work in good health, and the employer is expected to provide an environment that allows employees to maintain good health, enjoy their work, and contribute to the company’s success.
Workplace wellness is more than a “lunch and learn” program. It’s about developing a “people first” approach to doing business. It’s about taking care of employees, establishing a positive work environment, and paying attention to the factors that keep employees healthy and happy at work. A good workplace wellness program has an impact on employees’ mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, and it could bring your work environment one step closer to achieving a healthy atmosphere for all.

3 key benefits of exercise, yoga & chair massage to feel better!
Your body is telling you a story. Are you listening?

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American works 44 hours per week, or 8.8 hours per day.
As I have been practicing more yoga for years now, I am reminded that my body speaks to me every single day and especially during an hour of yoga. When I’m tuned in, my body indicates whether or “knot” it prefers a stance, pose, or activity.
Not only that, my body speaks to me when I’m sitting at my desk, walking outside, or doing common household chores. Most of us move constantly throughout the day, and our body is expected to cooperate 24/7 with each activity, regardless of what is required.
As many of us work at desks, whether at home or in the office, we are stationary and sedentary often for hours at a time in order to work on long projects and keep up with numerous conference calls. Often, our clients tell us their “bad habits” when it comes to posture, such as hunching over their desks and tucking one leg under their seat. These “bad habits” shift our body weight and posture, which can cause further discomfort and have lasting effects on our already strained muscles. These habits, and pain and tension they cause have a cumulative effect on our bodies, minds, and comfort.
Often while sitting at a desk, our back muscles tend to be overstretched, while our chest tends to be compressed to accommodate sitting for long periods at our work stations.
So, I ask: What are you doing to connect with your body during your work day?
Here are three benefits of exercise, yoga & chair massage to feel better!
- Chair yoga, gentle stretching, and other light activities can be easily incorporated into your workday, decreasing pain and tension, and improving posture and flexibility. These activities can also decrease stress, increasing productivity and mental clarity.
- Walking during your lunch break is another great way to gently stretch and move your body, while also helping to clear your mind.
- Of course, mobile chair massage is our favorite option for helping clients connect with their body during the workday. Just a 10-15 minute chair massage can be so beneficial both physically and mentally. Read our FAQs for more details about the many benefits of chair massage.
Think about how your body language would change at the end of the day if you incorporated these small activities into your workday.
Corporate Massage Kneads would love to be a part of your corporate wellness offerings. Our on-site chair massage services relieve back and neck pain, stress and tension, and increase employee productivity, satisfaction, and mental clarity.

Fall into chair massage and Autumn organization!
Today is the FIRST day of Autumn. Fall has officially begun, and in the corporate world, it’s more than just pumpkins and Halloween. Corporate business often picks up this time of year, as we work to catch up after summer vacations, and make sure we’re on schedule before winter holidays and end of year deadlines. Looming deadlines and increasing workloads may be on your mind constantly, and early mornings that lead into long days in your office can put a damper on your fall spirit.
Don’t stress! I’ve compiled a list of things to help you adjust and get into the swing of the Fall work season.
Organization is key.
Making sure your workspace is neat and organized is such an important aspect of keeping yourself both positive and productive. Folders and Binders are helpful in keeping all of your information in one place, but there’s something that many people seem to be forgetting: Labels, Labels, Labels. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be stuck looking through papers in a folder, trying to find that one paper. By making sure everything you own is organized with labels, you can eliminate this stress as a whole. You can go with simple labels, or use lots of subcategories, the possibilities are endless, whatever it takes to make sure you can find the thing you need as quickly as possible.
Save the date!
Time management is often the key to meeting deadlines. If you don’t already utilize a calendar, we highly recommend a weekly calendar with plenty of space on each workday. It’s important not just to keep track of work meetings, Zoom calls, conference calls, and big deadlines, but also smaller deadlines and milestones to keep you on track to meeting the larger ones. The more details, the better, so we recommend everything you must be informed of on that date. It’s also beneficial to include personal events on your work calendar, or keep your work calendar alongside your personal calendar, so you can effectively manage your time and your work life balance. Kids soccer game or doctors appt? Mark it down.
Keeping your work calendar on top of your calendar or in the same space will give you a better understanding of how your week is going. If you see that you have to be at your daughter’s dance recital at 7 on Tuesday and you have a big workload, you might want to put in the extra hours on Monday to ensure you can finish in time. Planning ahead will help you keep a clearer headspace, knowing that you won’t be missing out on anything. Whether your prefer a digital or written calendar is up to you and your preferences, and we recommend using whichever is going to be the easiest for you to use consistently.

It is also in your best interest to put your personal wellness higher on your list of priorities. Make sure you aren’t letting your stress build up without a way to release the tension. Chair massage in Baltimore, FAQs

Corporate Massage Kneads offers stress-free wellness programs with mobile chair massages!
Your boss has requested that you plan, organize, and execute an on-site corporate chair massage program as a perk for all those long hours at your workplace. Following your research to identify a suitable, recommended, and local chair massage company in the Baltimore area, the questions now begin for scheduling this type of wellness program.
Here are some common questions that clients consider when scheduling their on-site corporate chair massage wellness program:
- What is the proposed length of time that the employees will receive chair massages? Corporate Massage Kneads typically provides 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes per employee, depending on what your budget and time constraints will allow for.
- How much space is required for this type of program? We prefer a 5-foot x 5-foot space to offer chair massage. The massage chair only takes up a small amount of space, but there must be adequate room for the therapist to move around the chair and seated client to reach their shoulders, neck, back, and arms.
- Is music provided by the company, or is that to be set up by my office? If requested, we can provide soft music for your chair massage sessions. Music that is typically requested is soothing, soft music to encourage relaxation during the chair massage. Please let us know if this is something you would like for your chair massage event.
- Is there paperwork involved in scheduling this type of wellness program? Yes, the paperwork to be completed includes a corporate contract, invoice, and a copy of our W-9 for your accounting department. Lastly, Corporate Massage Kneads requires a simple Liability Waiver, which is to be completed by each employee receiving a corporate chair massage. Copies of these document can be emailed following your chair massage event for your records.
- Is tipping expected following each on-site chair massage? Tips are always appreciated but not required for our services.

Fall into chair massage!
With summer vacations officially behind us, many of us are back to work, school, and a more organized schedule after a glorious summer! Many employers are seeking wellness programs to entice their employees back
into the office on a more regular schedule. More and more workers have been required to resume working in the office, which requires more time commuting and less flexibility than working from home. The weather is cooling down, which brings more interest in taking a break or a walk outside during lunch for a quick reset during a busy day. Other ideas to incorporate wellness and self-care into your busy work schedule include office yoga, mobile chair massage, or even just taking a few minutes to stretch or do breathing exercises at your desk. Making sure you have healthy snacks available like packaged nuts, fruit, protein bars, or shakes can also help you take care of your body and boost your energy during a long office day!

Labor Day is here! Book your mobile chair massage event!

While we still have a few more weeks of the summer season, many of us consider Labor Day to be the unofficial start of Fall! If you haven’t already, now is the time to finishing buying Back to School supplies, which include new notebooks, pencils, and all the sticky notes that your kids will beg for, if they’re anything like mine! All of the major retail stores have made it easier than ever to get organized with an entire section of school supplies laid out for easy buying with your school’s list in hand.
Busy parents are enjoying the last of their summer vacations before preparing to send their kids back to school, which reminds me of school lunches and coming up with new ideas for easy nutritional snacks to revamp lunches for the coming school year.
In doing some online research, I found that many are going back to the basics when prepping and packing lunches for their kids to bring to school. It is always important to start your kid’s day with a full belly at breakfast. We all know this, but yet sometimes it can still tough to manage, to get everyone fed and out the door for school and work on time. Smoothies that include both fruit and protein can be an easy and delicious breakfast while meeting daily nutrition needs.
From easy go-tos like peanut butter and banana smoothies, to more adventurous blends of fruits and and vegetables, there are many recipes online, depending on how creative you want to get! Adding avocado, yogurt, and nuts to smoothies increases the amount of protein, good fat, and overall nutrition while also making your smoothies thicker, creamier, and more filling. Try out some new recipes on the weekends to find out your kids favorite flavors to make before school breakfasts even easier. Studies show that breakfast positively affects cognitive learning and school performance for children.
Here are a few other ideas for easy and common store items that might bring renewed interest to the contents of your child’s shiny new lunch box: Yogurt, cheese sticks, fresh and dried fruit, hummus and crackers, salsa and chips, peanut butter and celery, granola bars, roll-ups with fun fillings, and trail mix.
