Four health tips for teachers including chair massage!

With spring break soon upon us, many will enjoy a deserved break from early alarm clocks, school lunches, and possibly bus schedules.  Education is something that can causeTeachers enjoy mobile chair massage! excitement but can also lead to stress, whether it be in small doses or large amounts. Long days in a classroom can put stress on your back and shoulders. Sitting in a chair all day is not fun to do, and can make you upset very easily. We all need relief and there are some simple ways to get that relief you have been “kneading” for so long. (Inside tip, chair massage gives relief!)

Teachers are working longer and harder these days post-COVID. Teacher appreciation is upon us soon enough. The designated date for this year is May 7th, 2024. #teacherappreciation

Here are some additional ideas to stay healthy this spring!

Exercise. It may sound redundant, but keeping a healthy lifestyle with exercise 3 or more times a week can reduce back pain and stress.  It also keeps your mind in a brighter place. Some recommended exercises are Back extensions, bridges, and knee rolls, 10 of each of these exercises every day will allow for a reduction in lower back pain as well as a clear state of mind.

Healthy Dieting. Eating a balanced and complete 3 meals a day will help with your overall mood and mindset when heading to school, or any day in general. One of the most important things to remember is that you cannot skip out on Breakfasts. The energy provided from the first meal of the day is crucial to your mindset and ignoring this meal can cause foggy and decreased brain productivity. Make sure you include many proteins in your breakfast that sustain you through the day!

Sleep. By far the most important thing on this list is sleep. Sleep is so important to how you will react and feel the next day. Depending on your age, people need different amounts of sleep.  Most people do not get the amount of sleep that they need. There have been multiple studies about the amount of sleep that students in high school are getting, the average has been 6-7 hours. That is 3 hours short on average. Getting the required sleep is very important for your brain, as it lets you focus on things clearly and consciously. There has been a trend in students, that the more sleep you get, the higher your grades are. This is not true for every student, but it shows a good baseline and shows the  importance of getting those extra 3 hours of sleep can be to testing and grades

On-site Chair Massage. Receiving a mobile chair massage is an excellent way to break up a mid-week slump. Your massage chair therapist will work on your traps, neck muscles, and rhomboids. These are the key areas to reducing your stress levels and causing you to relax and focus. On average, a mobile massage session will last about 15 to 30 minutes. This is a great benefit because it can fit into almost everybody’s schedule between classes, work, and any other important activities your day consists of.

Your mobile massage chair specialist understands your stress where its key points lie and how to reduce stress very quickly, allowing you to charge through the week with full confidence!

Corporate Massage Kneads is the premier mobile chair massage business in Maryland! We have many clients that enjoy receiving a mobile chair massage. Read the testimonials here!

Chair massage celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week & National Nurses Day 2024!

Corporate on-site chair massage is a fabulous wellness program to celebrate these unsung heroes; nurses and teachers!Chair massage celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week & National Nurses Day!

Both teachers and nurses celebrate their special days in May! Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation Week are the same week this year and will begin on Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.  A special week indeed for many who devote their lives to helping others day in and day out.  Both professions are key to our communities as they continue to educate and nurture each day in their special way.

HISTORY about National Nurses Day to be celebrated the week of Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.

National Nurses Day is celebrated on May 7th, 2024 this year. This date is chosen in honor of the birthday of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910). As many are aware, she is known for founding the nursing profession during the Crimean War (1853-1856). An interesting fact is that she became known as “The Lady with the Lamp” due to her habit of making her rounds at night when others were not around.

What would your experience be if there was no nurse to tend to you or a loved one during a time of need? Nurses tend to our physical and emotional wounds typically during stressful times with medical assistance through experience and calming behavior.

HISTORY about National Teacher Appreciation Day to be celebrated the week of Mon, May 6, 2024 – Fri, May 10, 2024.

Teachers are often celebrated during the first full week of May each year. This special day has a long history that brings this celebration to the forefront of our community. In 1944, leaders in politics and education discussed the need for a national day to honor teachers. In 1953, Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. Finally, in 1980, Congress declared National Teacher Day, which was later changed by the National Education Association to the first full week of May to honor these dedicated professionals.

What are your fond memories of your favorite teacher or nurse? We all have had experiences throughout our lives that have been enhanced by either a nurse or a teacher.

Mobile chair massage is the PERFECT way to say “Thank You” to these special and important service providers.  Massage Kneads would be honored to come to your facility and offer stress relief and mobile chair massage to give some relief and care to these special caregivers during this special time of year. Wellness programs are always appreciated any time of year!

Corporate chair massage adds and does not take away

picture of chair massage therapistsHave you ever been on a plane when the flight attendant instructed you that in case of emergency, to put on your mask first and then assist those around you? It struck a chord in me recently as I feel that we all “knead” to manage our health and wellness first before pouring ourselves into other people. If we cannot take the time for ourselves, how will we remain filled up, healthy, and available for those who require more time and attention? Chair massage can help! Our team offers ONLY chair massages in Maryland.

If we are under constant stress, our bodies gear up and allow the defensive mode to be turned on. In so doing, the stress hormones rise along with heart rates and blood pressure. In addition, the muscles tighten up which allows for more aches and pains and often produces headache tension, leading to migraines.  If stress is acute and ongoing, these conditions become the “normal” state for the body and can have an effect and toll on our well-being making it take longer to correct.

Wellness comes in many forms. Taking frequent walk breaks, breathing deeply, exercising, and getting proper sleep and nutrition are ways to improve wellness.  Working 40+ hours is taxing for sure, but not including some of these stress relievers can compound an already tough situation.

Writing of which, I just saw an interesting piece about the top super healthy foods that will fill you up in hopes of restoring fresh and often required vitamins and minerals. Some are more commonplace: Greek yogurt, avocados, barley, black beans, berries, broccoli, etc.  Others were a bit of a surprise and have recently lost their favor: bananas, black pepper, bok choy, brown rice, etc.

With the help of the internet and new recipes, lunch can become more exciting when planned out and managed each week. A small investment of time and energy can result in healthy (and better) eating.  Small changes make a BIG difference in daily living. Wellness initiatives that include massage, proper nutrition, and modest exercise help restore the body one step at a time.

Since 2006, Corporate Massage Kneads has been Maryland’s premier mobile chair massage company. We provide corporate chair massage and wellness programs that fit whatever particular “kneads” you have!  We would be honored to be considered as your chosen on-site chair massage company in the future.

If on-site corporate chair massage sounds like a program that can be incorporated into your business and wellness program, I hope to hear from you. Contact me, Janet Constantino.

Mobile chair massage increases the energy!

If we cannot take the time for ourselves, how will we remain filled up, healthy, and available for those who require more time and attention? This comes to massage; chair massage, table massage, or any variety of mobile chair massage.

Small changes make a BIG difference in daily living. Wellness programs such as chair massages can enhance your health as they allow for a small break to reset which sometimes increases productivity!

Corporate Massage Kneads, the on-site chair massage company in Maryland, offers chair massage to clients large and small to cover your wellness “kneads.”

Fresh ideas for a healthy office with mobile massage!

The start of the spring often shows us the change in season, spring flowers, and perhaps the pending tax season! When writing a recent blog, we discussed how it is important to incorporate aspects into your office thatMobile chair massage can help during tax season everyone could benefit from whether a tax prep business or an individual preparing his documents for this year. Wellness programs with mobile massage are always welcomed!

These are all very important things to consider when trying to keep your employees healthy and engaged!

Open those windows!

While it’s been relatively “trendy” to have well-lit areas with brighter-styled lights, many open-space offices are going slightly old-fashioned. By exposing the office to more natural light, there has been a link to more productivity. This is caused by Vitamin D that the natural light is giving off. Taller windows, higher ceilings, and more open hallways can help bring that warm light into the room. Your office or business can help all feel more productive, happier, and glow more than usual.

Security: Full Lock Down

For those working long hours preparing taxes, security can be a concern at times with an early morning meeting or late night departure. With brand-new state-of-the-art security technology out there, there is no reason not to switch to a high-end plan. High-end plans specialize in what they do and can provide top-of-the-line automatic door locks that require special permission to enter the building. Most of them require a card key that will identify the user and allow them to enter, immediately locking afterward. While physical security is important, digital security is just as necessary. With many different malware and viruses circling the internet each day, you’ll want to keep a grasp on the most recent antivirus programs especially when working with sensitive material involved with tax preparation.  Invest in a program for your office computers and make sure they are set to auto-update, receiving the latest virus definition packs.

A place to relax

Many offices seem to be introducing new areas to help give their employees some time to enjoy themselves. This can include break rooms, an entertainment lounge, or maybe even a fitness center. These places are easily accessible and make it very easy for people to go whenever they want. No more worrying about hitting the gym in the morning before you leave. Just leave earlier and take advantage of the in-office fitness center to get your daily exercise in! Exercise can improve your mental clarity while decreasing your stress levels during those long office hours.

Mobile chair massage at work

All of these options are being implemented all around the world in offices. Increased security, and workout facilities along with updated and fresh sitting areas are ideal to help keep productivity up and keep mental health up and in check. While these amenities will help out your business as a whole, it’s a good idea to put your employee’s stress at ease as well. The best way to keep your stress levels to a minimum while increasing productivity and lowering stress is to receive a mobile chair massage from Corporate Massage Kneads. During a fifteen or thirty-minute chair massage, our therapists will make sure you unlock your full potential!

A mobile chair massage at work may energize you. It did for this recent client.

Chair massage + tax season

Chair massage + tax season

It’s ALMOST February which means that corporations and many households are busy preparing their tax documents! Yes, February marks the start of the tax season as the 2022 documents have been sent with my eyes set on organizing my business and personal returns.  I think that many feel the same way this year with taxes – best to get them completed and in early for less stress. Chair massage helps to destress workers in “the busy season!”

As many of you probably already know, Tax Day this year is Monday, April 15, 2024.

DEFINITION OF “TAX”

Here is an interesting fact about taxes! Do you know what the word “tax” actually means? It is a Latin term which has the meaning of “I estimate.”

Corporate Massage Kneads is fortunate to have repeat clients requesting chair massages for their accounting staff each year. I have received several requests already this month.  Jobs have been confirmed with contracts pending. I know and can appreciate that many accountants are working really hard this year with long hours,  It is confirmed by the requests which include Saturday hours (breakfast is provided for all) and later evening hours. A reminder that the days are LONG! during tax season.

LOGISTICS OF ON-SITE CHAIR MASSAGE

We adore working at accountant offices. These organizations typically run on time so they have very little worry or oversight with the management of massages.  Accounting offices are typically easy to schedule for chair massage.  Consequently, clients are quiet upon the completion of their massage with brighter eyes and a feeling of relaxation when they return to their desks!

BENEFITS OF ONSITE MOBILE CHAIR

Why settle for a donut or pre-ordered lunch when an onsite chair massage may be an option?

Mobile chair massage therapy benefits include:

  1. Decreased muscle tension & discomfort
  2. Increased energy
  3. Increased tissue elasticity & flexibility
  4. Increased range of motion
  5. Increased relaxation
  6. Increased blood circulation

WHAT ARE OUR CLIENTS SAYING?

I hope that each employee will welcome our services as this office worker did recently. You can see all the testimonials here!

Great for my busy schedule
“I am so busy outside of work hours, that I don’t have much time to go to a massage therapist. The 20-minute massage is great and she knows those main problem areas to hit for those of us who sit at a desk most of the day.”

If you do not already know the reasons for on-site chair massage, this work allows for relief of back and neck pain (associated with long hours at the desk.)  It is also a stress relief and is known to increase productivity.

If on-site corporate chair massage sounds like a program that can be incorporated into your business during this busy tax season, I hope to hear from you. Please contact me, Janet Constantino, CEO of Corporate Massage Kneads, at 410-989-3577.
