Chair Massage: the ultimate body recovery tool!

mobile chair massageSummer fun and exercise can leave your body tired!  Try recovering with an on-site chair massage!

Are you trying to get into shape following a summer of “too much fun?” Heading into the cooler temps of Fall can be the ideal time to get outside to walk and exercise.  Working out is essential to living a healthy lifestyle. While exercise is wonderful for your body, it can also leave your body feeling exhausted, sore, and taut. Mobile chair massage is a great way to ease stiff muscles and allow you to get in shape faster and prevent injuries.

Whether you work out every once in a while, or you push yourself physically every day in the gym, a massage can be extremely beneficial for your specific exercise regimen. Exercise is often promoted as extremely beneficial to a healthy lifestyle, but the recovery process after the workout is not as often highlighted. Professional teams and athletes almost always use massage to heal from the minor injuries associated with strenuous activity. When you exercise heavily, your muscles can often become hypertonic (chronically tight), less flexible, and less capable of relaxing. Muscle soreness is often linked to a lack of flexibility, leading to a higher likelihood of injury and muscle tear. Also, tight muscles can potentially cause pain since blood flow through tight muscles is much less effective than through relaxed muscles.

Massage maximizes blood and lymph circulation and general relaxation. This rebuilding phase of conditioning ultimately leads to the removal of waste products and better cell nutrition, improved elasticity of tissues, and faster healing of injuries. When receiving a chair massage, the therapist can often hone in on the muscle groups and tissues that are particularly troublesome, allowing you to gain a better range of certain muscles that are particularly tight. Regular massage can help you reach optimal performance by monitoring developing problems, addressing past injuries, and preventing the occurrence of new ones.

Pushing your limits in the gym is great for your body (within reason), but taking care of it afterward is also necessary. Especially if you’re training for some major athletic venture, massage can shorten the recovery time between workouts and prepare your muscles for the next day of strenuous exercise. When you exercise, lactic acid can build up in your muscles and can often cause cramps and muscular pain. Massage enhances the supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow and eliminates the build-up of lactic acid, thereby improving overall power and performance.

Not only can massage be physiologically beneficial for the professional athlete or occasional runner, but it can also benefit the mental capacity of any type of active individual. When your muscles become sore after exercising, you can be a lot less motivated to work out and get going again. After relaxing and easing the tension in your body, you will feel better and be more mentally prepared to get up and move sooner. Also, after a massage, you will be performing better and might therefore be more inspired to keep aiming for improvement and success. Working out is physical, but it is also largely mental. So, make sure that you take care of your body so that you can be mentally prepared to be active and succeed in your workouts.

Whether you are a super-athlete, a busy worker with a few minutes of exercise to spare, or a person who runs once a year, massage can benefit you in your specific exercise routine. Be physically and mentally prepared for the next time you put on your workout gear, and make sure that you try a chair massage that will leave your muscles feeling relaxed and ready to go in your next workout.

Hard work, rest & mobile chair massage!

mobile chair massageSeptember 9th marks the end of an exciting tournament at the US OPEN! With the history and level of play from the professionals, it is exciting to get an inside look at the journey and focus needed to have the honor of holding that very special trophy as the winner of the final match. These athletes train for many years and have all the resources to enhance their performance by taking care of their health and wellness. My hope when offering chair massage as a sought-after wellness program, we too can enhance the employee’s health and wellness at work. Mobile chair massage offers many benefits in a short amount of time! Many HR executives have FAQs about our programs. Check out some information here!

Watching more experienced players of the old days, Roger Federer and Serena Williams, makes me think of the amazing commitment year-round, day in and day out on and off the courts. I can only imagine the balance with proper nutrition, strength, hours of tennis practice, along with regular stretching and rest. Each player must identify the priority of what is “kneaded” to bring their best game to the large tennis tournaments.

This got me thinking, are many office workers feeling the same with the constant stress and wear and tear from sitting six to ten hours per day while managing the daily demands of their employer? Not many employees can take six months off to enjoy the same luxury as these professional athletes. However, large and small employers alike can bring wellness to the office with minimal cost and maximum benefits!

I am hopeful that some companies will consider mobile chair massage as one possible option to offer renewal, pain relief, and recovery to their employees.

Chair massage therapists can focus on the tight muscles associated with overuse. The traps, rhomboids, and neck muscles are the first areas to be worked on which allow for stress relief and a great range of movement. Typically mobile massage sessions are either 15 or 30 minutes in length and are of great benefit to those sore and aching muscles.

Amy, a Property Mgr, sent in last week and brought the message home.

“Michelle was great last week! We received a lot of positive feedback. Thank you so much for all your help and we will keep you guys in mind for future events!”

Why “knot” give Corporate Massage Kneads a try to get your wellness program in place to allow for a six-month renewal before Fall is here?

Maintain exercise & chair massage to feel great!

Many of us have been trying to keep on a strong exercise plan since the days of COVID-19. We have set times during the day to go on a daily walk around the park ormobile chair massage in Maryland jog the local trail. For the most part, it’s been a decent steady workout session throughout the year but I know some of us have been falling behind. More requests are coming in for corporate chair massage to enhance your employees’ well-being.

Sometimes there are just things that come up during the day preventing us from getting all the time we need to go on that walk in the park. Maybe you’ve changed into your workout gear and you drove yourself to the park and you’re ready to go. Your daughter’s school calls you and tells you she needs to go home because she’s sick. You can’t just leave her there.  It’s obvious you have to head over to the school and take care of her for the day, leaving your daily exercise undone.

We’ve said it in the past, and we’ll say it again. Take time before work every morning to do your exercise. By moving all workout activities to the morning, it is less likely that interruptions will occur, allowing you to complete your exercise. You can easily get to the park at the crack of dawn and set out for your brisk walk. After you’re done, you will be able to go home and start getting ready for work. Not only are you making sure you get your workout out of the way early, but you’re also reducing stress for the rest of the day. Studies have shown that working out in the morning has shown increased productivity and energy for the workday.

However, everyone has those mornings where we can’t get things done and we just need that extra hour of sleep. That is okay to do from time to time as sleep is also a very important aspect of stress reduction. There are a few small exercises that can be done within your own office space to help and ensure that you’re getting your routine in. Bridges, Abdominal Contractions, Front Planks using the floor/desk and Chair stands can be done in your work area. Bridges and abdominal contractions can be done on the floor and require no extra items. Front planks can be done on the floor or a desk can be placed to plank off as well. Chair stands are exercises involving getting up from your chair repeatedly.

Stress relief can be relinquished from exercise and it is important to include it in your everyday schedule, whether it be before or after work. If you forget to do your exercise in the morning, doing a few small office workouts can keep you on track for your goal and get you moving. These routines that get your heart pumping will drop your stress if you keep up with the plan you’re using.

The quickest way to drop stress, however, is receiving a corporate chair massage from Corporate Massage Kneads. With many experienced chair massage therapists onsite, we can help reduce tension as your stress will fade away.

Celebrating 23 years of corporate wellness!

Celebrating 23 years of corporate wellness!

ONE happy graduate!

As of August 23rd, 2024, I am celebrating  23 years as a licensed massage therapist graduate of the Atlanta School of Massage, ASM.  This is especially exciting as I have often read that a licensed massage therapist’s “typical” lifespan is six years! Over the many years, we have enjoyed offering mobile chair massage at many corporate wellness events.

When deciding to leave my lucrative medical sales job, I felt the excitement to choose a trade that incorporated my mind, hands, and business knowledge to offer relaxation and stress relief to my future clients.  With the support of my husband, Jim, family, and friends, I jumped into applying to the school and prepared for my interview with admissions. Success!

In December 2000, I was accepted into the program with a January 2001 start date for school.  The realization began to set in as ASM was full-time and required hours of studying the location and function of muscles, bones, and nerves.

Deciding to commit to a full-time program of 720 hours of hands-on body and school work was one of the best decisions that I have made in my career.

Looking back, it was an easy decision as I was always seeking massage in foreign cities when I traveled for work vs. long corporate-sponsored dinners and drinks. It was healthier and felt better the next day! A special thank you to those kind folks i.e. “pretend clients” (including my husband) who laid on my new massage table for hours as I mastered the art of draping while offering bodywork.

As a skilled, licensed, and mobile massage therapist, the career offers flexibility with scheduling, and immediate gratification from clients receiving chair massages along with a great hourly rate! I continue to fine-tune my skills with my thirst for knowledge with in-depth study of the human body.  Every chair massage stroke is an attempt to create the perfect harmony for proper alignment with each client’s movement.

Since 2001, I have fine-tuned my skills for on-site chair massage as many clients continue to seek this type of bodywork due to limited time and sometimes financial resources. My massage career and income drastically improved when I started Corporate Massage Kneads in October 2006.

The years have rolled on, I am filled with gratitude to have chosen this massage as my life’s work.  My company, Corporate Massage Kneads, continues to push me to exceed clients’ expectations of me and others who work with me. We hope to assist large and small companies when considering corporate wellness events.

All the therapists who work with my company have been licensed for many years and bring stress relief to each client in a short amount of time when offering corporate chair massage. They are an extension of me and always bring their best work to every on-site chair massage corporate wellness event in Maryland.

Upon doing research, I was curious why others like myself chose massage therapy. The results are interesting as I profile these independent thinkers and workers (like me!)

Many modern-day massage therapists have chosen massage as their second career as it offers flexibility and a decent hourly rate. This was especially appealing to me when newly married and ready to start a family. The “typical” massage therapist is a female with a median age of 45 and starting anew with massage as a second career.

Interestingly, I have learned that is a growing industry with $12.1 billion in sales for massage and related massage products. This shows promise as graduating therapists have committed to a “hands-on” trade with the additional cost of time and money to attend a local massage school for their chosen new career.

Corporate wellness programs are “in” now as the public and large corporations seek on-site chair massage, chair yoga, stretching, and exercise as a cornerstone for increasing productivity, aging well, and stress reduction.

Check out the testimonial page! Our client testimonials continue to validate the importance of offering on-site corporate chair massage in both large and small corporate offices!

“I am so glad our company makes this available on-site. Sitting at a desk 8+ hours a day takes a toll on our muscles and just 15 minutes with the therapist makes a world of difference. I was hesitant at first about giving up my time in fear of losing valuable production time, but in turn, it has helped my alertness and production many times over. Well worth the investment. Thanks to Janet, she is an angel in disguise!”

With hope and gratitude, Corporate Massage Kneads asks that you consider selecting us as your chosen chair massage provider in Maryland as we have the experience to help you with all your corporate “kneads” and locations.
