Massage Kneads, an onsite mobile chair massage company, says “bye bye” to 2018!
With the end of 2018, I find myself enjoying the holiday season with family, friends, and neighbors this year. It was a year full of highs and lows and yet there are always lessons to be learned!
As a seasoned massage therapist, I have enjoyed working with others in my chosen field. We all have the same goals in mind which are to offer the best mobile chair massage to each client that we work on!
This is how year after year, Massage Kneads is fortunate to have so many returning clients year after year to enjoy receiving chair massages from Maryland’s premier on-site chair massage company, Corporate Massage Kneads.
I continue to learn about clients large and small through both standard and unusual requests for massage. More clients are requesting different opportunities for massage; some monthly, quarterly, or during their annual holiday parties.
These corporate chair massage clients along with home-based massage table client requests keep me active and interested in continuing to exceed expectations throughout the year for each and every client interaction. As you probably already know, chair massage differs from table massage as time is limited, pressure has to be exact to the client’s preference (light, medium or firm), and the environment is serene without too much chatter and talk.
Here are some lessons and reminders learned from 2018:
- Corporate chair massage requests are more mainstream now versus when we started in 2006.
- Clients always know what they “knead” and want during a chair massage. We do our best to honor their wishes along with the signals that we pick up when actually working on them. Sometimes the body tells a different story altogether! We just need to keep asking “What hurts and why?”
- Keeping our hourly pricing modest for on-site chair massage allows for the benefit for many employees versus only those that earn a higher salary
- Mobile chair massage therapists typically prefer and enjoy this bodywork due to the variety of locations and direct contact with various employees within local large and small corporations
- Local therapists that work with Massage Kneads are always keen to go the extra mile for our clients and for that, I am most grateful for that and so many other reasons this past year
- With so many areas of interest in the massage field, we as therapists can easily create or re-create a specialty as the business possibilities are endless
- By focusing more on my business to offer primarily corporate chair massage, my sales cycle is shorter and more profitable
- Many “veteran” clients have used our services for years and have expanded their wellness programs for the following reasons; stress relief and relaxation following a busy season, a thank you in appreciation for a job well done or to promote health and wellness within the office
I am always thrilled with new reviews based on brief yet meaningful interactions with employees following a 15-minute or 30-minute chair massage.
This recent 5-star review was just received late last week as the employee sought an on-site chair massage after a busy week heading into the Christmas break.
Reviews like this one are so appreciated and valued as I head into my 17th year of offering chair massages. Owning my business, Corporate Massage Kneads, has been the most enriching work and The best profession EVER!

Winter fun can include mobile chair massage!
The leaves are turning but not the “knead” for wellness which can include chair massage. Outdoor activities can be fun in winter.
Here are some ideas on how to bring a little extra fun to the season:
- Build a snowman. Take the hint from Anna and Elsa and make yourself a friend.
- Bake and decorate cookies with friends. Whether you’re 8 or 80, baking bonds us together.
- Go ice skating. Indoor or outdoor, coordinated or klutzy, skating is a fun wintery way to exercise.
- Curl up with a good book. Pick one out yourself or get a recommendation from a friend. Relax and get comfy while reading your favorite genre.
- Mail a handwritten card to an old friend. Everyone loves a thoughtful letter.
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Giving back is a great way to spend your holidays!
- Drive around town to admire holiday lights. Enjoy your festive neighbors’ commitment to decoration
Make your holidays a little brighter by doing a little something fun every day!
Chair massage is always welcomed in ANY corporate office, ANYTIME!
This client enjoyed her massage last week!
I got a 25-minute chair massage
“I wish more people would book this lady up. She is great at what she does and absolutely the most talented I’ve ever had. I look forward to seeing that she is coming to our company to give massages. She can create a spa-like atmosphere in a basic meeting room and the quality of her work is beyond anything I’ve experienced at a full-scale spa (full body massage). She was also able to give recommendations for tensions I felt needed further looking into. Book her so she’ll keep coming!”

Happy Holidays from Corporate Massage Kneads!
May I have a chair massage? Exams are coming…
It’s already one week into December! This is the month of the year when every student is stressed out. Whether you’re in college and have finals the first week of May, or you’re a high school student who is getting ready for their exams, it’s a rough time for everyone. Being a parent of stressed-out students can certainly be tough, so I’ve come up with a few ideas you may want to incorporate to help offer some stress relief and relieve some of the daily school stress your household may be experiencing.
Comfort Food
With exams, projects, and finals on the back of their minds constantly. Many students forget to eat properly, which can lead to health issues and a lack of nutrients. The best way to combat a lack of eating or eating too much quick junk food is to prepare small snacks and meals that are tasty and considered “comfort food,” but contain nutrients. Ideal snacks include chips with hummus or guacamole, fruit salad, peanut butter, banana pitas, and chicken wraps.
Peanut butter and banana pita wraps were one of my favorite snacks growing up and are fun, tasty, easy to make, and can give you a quick boost of energy and make you less hungry throughout the day. Feel free to jazz it up by adding granola, honey, or blueberries into the mix. Chips and hummus or guacamole can be good in moderation. You may also want to consider substituting chips with baby carrots to help reduce calorie intake. A small snack like this can go a long way and is also very flavorful.
Sleep Routine
It’s not just about getting enough sleep at night. I mean, yes that is a very important aspect of being focused and doing well in your studies, but that isn’t the only thing you should be worrying about. Students tend to ignore health routines when they are stressed. It’s important to wash your face, take showers regularly, or even a warm bath before bed.
Set your students up for success, maybe treat them with a few products like face masks, bath bombs, and lotions. Lush sells all-natural fresh face masks that have active ingredients meant to help reduce stress and cause your skin to look younger.
We know you want to help your student out with whatever it may be that they need, but doing so can stress you out in the process. Make sure you put yourself first as well and take time to relax. Productivity on the job can suffer if you focus too much on how your kids are doing. Be there for them if “kneaded”, but be there for yourself too.
Mobile chair massage from Corporate Massage Kneads
The quickest way to reduce stress during the exam season is to receive a mobile chair massage from Massage Kneads. Why not schedule chair massages for your whole workplace? Your department and those at home will be most grateful!

Chair massage after a work out helps ease sore muscles!
When getting back into the swing of things exercise-wise, it’s important to take note of how your body is handling your workouts. Many people experience soreness when jumping into a more complicated routine or just starting back up after a break. This is completely normal and almost everyone gets it, however, it can be a real pain in the back. Sore spots on the body can cause complications throughout the day that can make everything much harder to accomplish. Chair massage can ease muscle pain, bring back relief AND increase your productivity!
Have a sore lower back? This can especially cause issues when you’re sitting at your desk during work hours. Trying to focus on your paperwork will feel like a hassle with the constant pain your lower back is giving you. Is there pain in your legs or arms? This can cause pain when moving around or standing too long. Pain can also be caused in your arms by lifting objects or keeping them in the same place for too long. While it’s possible to just try and ignore these obnoxious pains throughout the day, chances are they will bother you regardless of how much you try.
The Best Solution
When your muscles feel tender and sore, the best solution to help get rid of the soreness is actually more exercise. It’s definitely not the best idea to complete intensive workouts when you have soreness. Experts suggest you engage in light workouts in order to help your muscles, the most common being swimming. This will help ease your muscles back slightly, hopefully reducing some of the tenderness.
Yes, it is actually somewhat possible to help prevent a bit of the soreness from a new workout. Experts say by staying hydrated before, during, and after the workout you are already taking an important step to reduce the pain later on. Other helpful hints include creating a healthy diet that is high in carbohydrates and protein. Eating these styles of meals before and after your workout will help give your muscles the energy to heal.
Wellness programs like chair massage aid in recovery
Coming to work and experiencing sore muscles can put a damper on your productivity for the day. This can reduce your overall mood as a whole and can cause you to become late for deadlines and struggle to get your work done. The quickest way to help ease the pain of sore muscles and return some of your productivity is a mobile chair massage from Massage Kneads. With experts who are trained in helping reduce problem pain areas and decrease stress, you’ll be feeling better in no time.
My client two weeks ago had this to say about our mobile massage services!
5 stars!
Great experience!
“A great experience in the professional workplace to take a break and relax with a great massage and then to restart and complete your work day! “

16 years of gratitude as a mobile chair massage therapist
Many people celebrate many things: birthdays, anniversaries, their kids, and associated milestones. These celebrations highlight the importance of our cherished life and the passing of time. Every August, I too celebrate my anniversary of becoming a mobile chair massage therapist.
Sixteen years ago, I graduated from The Atlanta School of Massage (ASM) where I learned so much about my newly chosen profession, the gift of giving a massage, and about myself. My prior work life was fulfilling in a different way. I was in medical sales and constantly working to meet and exceed my ever-growing quota. It was fun and exciting in my younger years. In the corporate world, I learned to grow professionally with others; other sales professionals, internal staff, and mature and savvy medical customers. I was young, energetic, and busy learning to navigate how to best use the skills learned in college while receiving my business management degree.
Deciding to complete the Neuromuscular Massage Therapy program at ASM, I learned more about how to best solve physical and medical concerns while growing my skills and trade beyond what I thought possible. Early on, we were told that we too could palpate muscle tightness through our hands and even our elbows. Impossible I thought! Now, it is a given and trusted skill after years of working when offering hours of mobile chair massage each week.
Through the gentle guidance from compassionate teachers and fellow therapists, we grew both personally and professionally each day.
The testing and practical exams were stressful throughout the 720 hours of training when asked to demonstrate our newly acquired knowledge and practical skills. This testing often pushed us to demonstrate our personal best in the pursuit of bettering our skills while still supporting and encouraging client healing in a likely one-hour session.
Here is what I have learned in the past 16 years!
- Listen more and talk less during massage
- Trade work is so enriching and fulfilling and should be encouraged in local high schools
- Remember that not all medical issues can be “fixed” within a few massage sessions
- The power of touch is often underestimated
- Exceed expectations in every massage session
- Continue hands-on training to better your skills
- Always accept responsibility for your actions and those that work with you
- Work with and hire therapists that best represent your company to all he/she may encounter
- Bring solutions and new ideas to clients to help them feel better
- Bring solutions and new ideas to corporate clients to assist with their wellness program(s)
- Be honest and upfront with expectations with clients and therapists alike
- Always try your best when working with clients that suffer from chronic medical concerns
- Smile with your eyes!
- Continue to thank both large and small clients for their continued business
- Hire out the work that does not best suit your skills i.e. accounting and tax work!
- To be gentle with my hands as they are my special tools that bring personal and professional enrichment
This review from a mobile chair massage client was received earlier this summer. Reviews like this one make every day worth more than what I earn and then some!
Awesome!!!! 5 stars!
“Janet has magical hands!!! Thank you so much for a terrific massage – such a wonderful break in my day.”
Here’s hoping for another few years to further my trade when offering mobile chair massage!

Giving or receiving chair massage? Why choose?!
As the holiday season is upon us, many of us are rushing to the malls to pick out that perfect gift for the special people in our lives: our family and maybe a few close friends. However, some extra festive coworkers of ours may decide to give everyone in the office a Christmas present and many will feel rude because they will have no gift to offer in return. As this has happened to many of us on multiple occasions, some buy extra generic presents just in case an extra festive person offers them a present! Instead of buying a few extra generic gifts, why not give the whole office something they will remember (and will be talking about) for months after the holiday season has come and gone? Give the gift of an on-site chair massage this Christmas.
Think it’s too expensive? Not true! Maryland’s Massage Kneads offers a variety of packages that can fit just about any budget.
No time? Chair massage is not as time-consuming as one might expect. In fact, on-site chair massage appointments can take as little as 15 minutes! Even if there is no time during the workday for massage therapists to come in, office parties are great times to schedule an on-site massage appointment the whole office can enjoy!
Scheduling on-site chair massage therapists at the office during the holidays can help employees stay relaxed and refreshed during the stressful holiday season.
Plus, since you will receive a chair massage too, you’ll be able to reap the benefits from your own gift to your employees or coworkers!
Maryland’s onsite chair massage company, Corporate Massage Kneads’ clients say it best!
“I wanted to extend our gratitude to you for participating in our annual Wellness Event yesterday and making it a great success!! From the feedback I’ve received so far, our team members enjoyed visiting all of the tables and learned a lot of great information.” Chelsea K., Associate HR Business Partner, S3 Shared Service Solutions, LLC, Maryland chair massage client, November 2016
