On-site chair massage

In honor of National Massage Week, this is a reminder of all of the great benefits that come from enjoying a mobile chair massage!

Yes, something that feels good is good for you! Did you know that mobile chair massage is beneficial to your overall health?

If you are thinking about implementing workplace wellness for stress management, consider mobile chair massage to reduce physical and mental stress and tension.

Mobile chair massage can help to:

  • Alleviate pain. Tough knots and unnecessary muscular tension place unwanted pressure on your body and cause pain. Massage helps to loosen these knots to feel more comfortable in everyday life.
  • Improve posture. Oftentimes, muscles contort in ways that are not healthy for your body and can throw off your posture. By relaxing muscles and easing them into their rightful places, massage can help to fix your slump!
  • Sleep more soundly. Massage naturally relaxes the mind and body, and positively affects brain waves to help you sleep better!
  • Boost your immunity. Massage improves your white blood cell count, thus improving your body’s ability to fight off illness.
  • Reduce headaches. Many headaches and migraines are caused by unwanted pressure in areas of your head, neck, and back. By relaxing these muscles, massage can help to alleviate headaches.
  • Improve overall body function. Massage helps to improve blood and lymphatic flow. Because blood carries nutrients all around your body, this helps make your skin—and all of you—healthier overall!
  • Increase joint flexibility. Want to move more easily? Let massage relax the muscles around your joints to ease movement.
  • Combat arthritis. Arthritis patients who get massages regularly experience less physical difficulty/pain than those who do not.

What is Workplace Wellness? Will chair massage be offered?

October is National Work and Family Month! This resolution has brought more awareness to create healthier and more flexible work environments since it was established in 2003. The aim of this campaign is to remind employers (and employees!) about the benefits and importance of work-life balance. Corporate wellness programs are designed to assist employees in choosing healthier behaviors, such as being more physically active, utilizing onsite services (like chair massage) to reduce stress, taking advantage of corporate concierge programs to make better use of work time, utilizing weight loss and nutrition programs, and more. These types of services contribute to the health of employees and ultimately create a healthier environment and contribute to the wellness of the entire workplace.

Companies are seeing firsthand how wellness/work-life programs enhance their employees’ well-being and increase work productivity. As small and large companies alike look for ways to reduce the impact of rising healthcare costs, more companies are being proactive to prevent chronic health concerns down the road. This can take the form of encouraging more exercise by tracking and rewarding steps with a pedometer, offering more comprehensive wellness programs (such as onsite corporate chair massage), offering nutritional and dietary resources during lunch,  offering fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks in the break room, and/or offering Corporate Concierge services so employees can pass along their errands and administrative tasks and focus on more important work.

Mobile chair massage is a great additional to your corporate wellness program. It has many benefits and is easy to schedule, run, and promote. Businesses reserve a (quiet) space within their office to allow employees to unwind and rejuvenate. Suggestions with space requirements can be viewed here!

We offer both employer and employee paid on site chair massage. With the help of online scheduling, each employee can book and pay for his/her massage at their preferred time during the day. Massage sessions typically run in 15 or 30-minute increments. Chair massage provides a wide range of benefits for full-time workers. We often receive testimonials of how much employees enjoy our services.

A client recently sent this review!

Enjoyed It So Much!  “Everyone loved it!  I enjoyed two chair massages! LOL! We are being asked to have you attend our quarterly meetings. They enjoyed it so much!  Looking forward to doing business with you in the future.”

With the rise in healthcare costs, companies are looking for ways to reduce the impact and save on overall costs. With corporations looking for ways to reduce the impact of rising health care rates, work/life and wellness programs help to offset these costs!

Workplace & mobile chair massage affects health

woman drinking of hot drink in her officeNow that October is finally here and we are in the swing of Fall, we want to reiterate the importance of health in the workplace. There are a lot of ways to enhance workplace wellness, and the one we specialize in is offering mobile chair massage!

It is increasingly recognized that workplaces can have a powerful effect on individuals’ health. When employees are satisfied with their jobs, they are more productive, happier, and tend to be healthier as well. When employees feel that their work environment is negative or unsupportive, they feel increasingly stressed. Stress has a large impact on employees’ mental and physical health, and in turn, their output and productivity.

Companies that want to attract and maintain their good employees have leaders who understand the connection between employee satisfaction and employee health. They understand that workplace wellness is a business strategy that keeps their team functioning in optimum performance.  These management practices include making reasonable demands on time and energy, involving employees in decision-making, rewarding work well done, openly communicating, and providing support to balance work and home life. The underlying idea is that companies must genuinely care about the well-being of their employees.

Employers know that workers are looking for jobs that pay well, have good benefits, are interesting, and include excellent health and work/life programs. In today’s competitive hiring market, it’s become more important than ever for companies to enhance job satisfaction and ensure that workers enjoy being on the job.

How does workplace wellness benefit the employer?

A workplace wellness initiative can help a company to:

  • Attract and retain employees;
  • Reduce the costs of disability, substance abuse, and absenteeism;
  • Reduce the effects of a stressful workplace
  • Reduce health costs or keep them contained; and
  • Improve morale by creating a happy, supportive environment.

How does workplace wellness benefit employees?

Employees of companies that have a workplace wellness program are likely to have:

  • Increased awareness and knowledge of ways to improve their health;
  • A better (less stressful) workplace;
  • Increased protection from injury;
  • Improved health and well-being;
  • Higher morale and greater job satisfaction;
  • Increased productivity and effectiveness at work;
  • Reduced personal health care costs; and
  • A more relaxed/flexible approach to health issues.

Both employers and employees have a responsibility for creating a healthy workplace. Employees are expected to arrive at work in good health, and the employer is expected to provide an environment that allows employees to maintain good health, enjoy their work, and contribute to the company’s success.

Workplace wellness is more than a “lunch and learn” program. It’s about developing a “people first” approach to doing business. It’s about taking care of employees, establishing a positive work environment, and paying attention to the factors that keep employees healthy and happy at work. A good workplace wellness program has an impact on employees’ mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, and it could bring your work environment one step closer to achieving a healthy atmosphere for all.

A new client had this to say about his (first) mobile chair massage! We have so many loyal clients. Read more testimonials here!

Relaxing
“This is my first time using the service. It was worth every penny. I went with the 15-minute session, and I was totally relaxed before time ran out.”

If you’re looking to improve workplace wellness in your office, consider contacting Corporate Massage Kneads to help you optimize the physical, mental, and emotional health of all your employees.

Wellness should not be a mere “perk” for a work environment, but should be a necessity that creates happy and healthy employees and a relaxed atmosphere more conducive to efficiency and productivity.

3 key benefits of exercise, yoga & chair massage to feel better!

Your body is telling you a story. Are you listening?

woman with back pain prior to a chair massage baltimore, md

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American works 44 hours per week, or 8.8 hours per day.

As I have been practicing more yoga for years now, I am reminded that my body speaks to me every single day and especially during an hour of yoga. When I’m tuned in, my body indicates whether or “knot” it prefers a stance, pose, or activity.

Not only that, my body speaks to me when I’m sitting at my desk, walking outside, or doing common household chores. Most of us move constantly throughout the day, and our body is expected to cooperate 24/7 with each activity, regardless of what is required.

As many of us work at desks, whether at home or in the office, we are stationary and sedentary often for hours at a time in order to work on long projects and keep up with numerous conference calls. Often, our clients tell us their “bad habits” when it comes to posture, such as hunching over their desks and tucking one leg under their seat.  These “bad habits” shift our body weight and posture, which can cause further discomfort and have lasting effects on our already strained muscles. These habits, and pain and tension they cause have a cumulative effect on our bodies, minds, and comfort.

Often while sitting at a desk, our back muscles tend to be overstretched, while our chest tends to be compressed to accommodate sitting for long periods at our work stations.

So, I ask: What are you doing to connect with your body during your work day?

Here are three benefits of exercise, yoga & chair massage to feel better!

  1. Chair yoga, gentle stretching, and other light activities can be easily incorporated into your workday, decreasing pain and tension, and improving posture and flexibility. These activities can also decrease stress, increasing productivity and mental clarity.
  2. Walking during your lunch break is another great way to gently stretch and move your body, while also helping to clear your mind.
  3. Of course, mobile chair massage is our favorite option for helping clients connect with their body during the workday. Just a 10-15 minute chair massage can be so beneficial both physically and mentally. Read our FAQs for more details about the many benefits of chair massage.

Think about how your body language would change at the end of the day if you incorporated these small activities into your workday.

Corporate Massage Kneads would love to be a part of your corporate wellness offerings. Our on-site chair massage services relieve back and neck pain, stress and tension, and increase employee productivity, satisfaction, and mental clarity.

Fall into chair massage and Autumn organization!

Autumn leavesToday is the FIRST day of Autumn. Fall has officially begun, and in the corporate world, it’s more than just pumpkins and Halloween. Corporate business often picks up this time of year, as we work to catch up after summer vacations, and make sure we’re on schedule before winter holidays and end of year deadlines. Looming deadlines and increasing workloads may be on your mind constantly, and early mornings that lead into long days in your office can put a damper on your fall spirit.

Don’t stress! I’ve compiled a list of things to help you adjust and get into the swing of the Fall work season.

Organization is key.

Making sure your workspace is neat and organized is such an important aspect of keeping yourself both positive and productive. Folders and Binders are helpful in keeping all of your information in one place, but there’s something that many people seem to be forgetting: Labels, Labels, Labels. I don’t know about you, but I do not want to be stuck looking through papers in a folder, trying to find that one paper. By making sure everything you own is organized with labels, you can eliminate this stress as a whole. You can go with simple labels, or use lots of subcategories, the possibilities are endless, whatever it takes to make sure you can find the thing you need as quickly as possible.

Save the date!

Time management is often the key to meeting deadlines. If you don’t already utilize a calendar, we highly recommend a weekly calendar with plenty of space on each workday. It’s important not just to keep track of work meetings, Zoom calls, conference calls, and big deadlines, but also smaller deadlines and milestones to keep you on track to meeting the larger ones. The more details, the better, so we recommend everything you must be informed of on that date. It’s also beneficial to include personal events on your work calendar, or keep your work calendar alongside your personal calendar, so you can effectively manage your time and your work life balance. Kids soccer game or doctors appt? Mark it down.

Keeping your work calendar on top of your calendar or in the same space will give you a better understanding of how your week is going. If you see that you have to be at your daughter’s dance recital at 7 on Tuesday and you have a big workload, you might want to put in the extra hours on Monday to ensure you can finish in time. Planning ahead will help you keep a clearer headspace, knowing that you won’t be missing out on anything. Whether your prefer a digital or written calendar is up to you and your preferences, and we recommend using whichever is going to be the easiest for you to use consistently.

It is also in your best interest to put your personal wellness higher on your list of priorities. Make sure you aren’t letting your stress build up without a way to release the tension. Chair massage in Baltimore, FAQs

Massage therapist offering chair massage in Baltimore MD

Corporate Massage Kneads offers stress-free wellness programs with mobile chair massages!

Your boss has requested that you plan, organize, and execute an on-site corporate chair massage program as a perk for all those long hours at your workplace. Following your research to identify a suitable, recommended, and local chair massage company in the Baltimore area, the questions now begin for scheduling this type of wellness program.

Here are some common questions that clients consider when scheduling their on-site corporate chair massage wellness program:

  • What is the proposed length of time that the employees will receive chair massages? Corporate Massage Kneads typically provides 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes per employee, depending on what your budget and time constraints will allow for.
  • How much space is required for this type of program? We prefer a 5-foot x 5-foot space to offer chair massage. The massage chair only takes up a small amount of space, but there must be adequate room for the therapist to move around the chair and seated client to reach their shoulders, neck, back, and arms.
  • Is music provided by the company, or is that to be set up by my office? If requested, we can provide soft music for your chair massage sessions. Music that is typically requested is soothing, soft music to encourage relaxation during the chair massage. Please let us know if this is something you would like for your chair massage event.
  • Is there paperwork involved in scheduling this type of wellness program? Yes, the paperwork to be completed includes a corporate contract, invoice, and a copy of our W-9 for your accounting department. Lastly, Corporate Massage Kneads requires a simple Liability Waiver, which is to be completed by each employee receiving a corporate chair massage. Copies of these document can be emailed following your chair massage event for your records.
  • Is tipping expected following each on-site chair massage? Tips are always appreciated but not required for our services.
