He/she sits at a desk all day long, hunching over computers because it’s his job. He/she types away, calling clients, organizing paperwork, selling products—all to help bring in the big bucks to his company, big or small. All the while, his/her head weighs down on his neck. The continual sitting at the desk crumbles down his spine. His/her fingers, curved over his keyboard, ache, while his wrists are threatened by carpal tunnel day in and day out. He/she is tired, sore, and hungry for a little more attention from the company he/she is [quite literally] breaking his back for. He/she is the forgotten office worker.
How would this forgotten worker like to be remembered? Maybe with a(n):
- Onsite chair massage. It’d be perfect for rehabilitating his spine and improving his posture. Chair massage is even proven to increase alertness—massage is a win-win for the employer and the employee![1]
- Personal training session. Our no-longer-forgotten worker will learn strength training tips from a professional. These tips will help him increase his body’s level of endorphins as well as lower his risk of disease and inadequate bone and muscle health.[2]
- Lunch and learn. Healthy eating lessons from a Registered Dietician would help our friend reap the benefits of a healthy diet. He’ll gain more energy, strengthen his teeth, bones, brain, and heart, and will keep his weight under control.[3]
- Chair yoga session. He’ll get to stretch, relax, and revitalize energy…all while at work! Yoga poses will help him manage stress, improve his strength and flexibility, and manage pain better.[4]
