Relax with a chair massage before public speaking!
When it comes to working for a company, or even if you’re self-employed, you have to make sure you beef up your public speaking skills. For some of us, this comes very naturally and we are able to convey our ideas very easily and clearly, but for some of us, it can be harder. Regardless of what level you have with public speaking, you can always improve. Other than being present, you have to prepare yourself both mentally and with knowledge. Chair massage can relieve some of the stress.
Observation
When you walk into the office meeting where you will be presenting or even just a meeting, make sure you take a look around you. Knowing and understanding your audience is the first big step in successful performance and time management. If the meeting and members are predetermined, feel free to research a bit to help understand, if not you can always walk around and introduce yourself. Having a basic knowledge of who you’re conveying your message to not only makes it a bit easier on you but can help you reach that audience.
Control your speaking
When you’re in a meeting, it is not only important to talk, but it’s also imperative that you listen to what everyone else in the room has to say. Instead of making a long list of stuff you want to say during a meeting, pick out key points that must be presented, but also make sure the information is relevant. If the topic goes into an area where you don’t have information ready, make sure you’re not repeating ideas from the previous topic. In short, take the meeting as a whole and think of what needs to be said, what’s optional and focus on what others are discussing.
Relate to the audience
The easiest way to make the audience feel comfortable is humor. By allowing others to see you as a fun, relatable person, not only will you feel more comfortable, the audience will be more engaged. Things you are saying will be picked up by the listeners and they may even begin to ask questions, which means you have their attention.
Most importantly, make sure you are comfortable, know what you’re saying, stay engaged with your audience, and talk clearly.

Spring & break for chair massage!
The end of February is upon us! This makes me think of planning my spring break! What is better than relaxing in the warm sun after a full day of play? Not all of us are able to do that, however, although we can always dream! Chair massage in Maryland is always an option for those busy workers who cannot get time away from the office. For some of us, this is an exciting time when we’re able to take a large vacation as a family.
Here are some ideas to keep all engaged and entertained for this most awaited week in spring; Spring Break!
There are some ways to keep it a bit less stressful and boring. Just make sure you plan ahead so you’re not spending time the night before planning for an entire week-long break.
Fun in the sun!
Since not all of us are able to take a nice getaway trip to Mexico, there are other ways to keep both you and your children happy. One of which is a day trip to the closest water you can find. For some of us, there’s a beach within 2-3 hours’ driving distance, which can definitely be a fun time. There are also many people with no beaches in sight! Fear not, there are many small lakes that can be a fun place to hang out for the day. It’s a fun way to catch up on your tanning while giving your children time to play in the ocean and get in touch with their creative side.
Cardio for everyone
It is very important you stay on track with your exercise routine, even when you’re handling and making sure your kids are satisfied. The easiest way to do this is to head to your normal gym. Many gym memberships include free childcare options and many of these are trainers who will bring children to the pool for a bit or through obstacle courses to make sure they’re using all their energy. So you can exercise with ease, knowing that your children aren’t just sitting around. Make sure you ask what they will be doing for that day and prepare your children in advance with snacks and water.
Spring break is supposed to be a time of relaxation where we can all sit back and take a breather, but it’s not like that for everyone. It’s important to give yourself time to relax and reduce stress levels. Juggling work with children at home can be trying at times but it doesn’t have to be. More than likely, there are coworkers in your line of work dealing with the same exact stress.
Talk to your manager about requesting a quote from Corporate Massage Kneads for this Spring Break. Our mobile chair massage therapists will make sure you leave feeling good about yourself and less stressed out. Your department will definitely appreciate some relaxation this time of year!

Employee appreciation day every.day.
Celebrate Employee Appreciation Day on March 3, 2023! Our thoughts turn to employees returning to the office following COVID. Whether employees admit it or not, many have concerns about returning to the office.

Twenty percent of workers report experiencing a great deal of stress at work.

Typical concerns include office apparel, and personal and office safety to name a few.
The challenges are many for those working as a small business owner or in Human Resources lately. How do you successfully bring employees back after an 18-month leave from the office?
Corporate Massage Kneads has some ideas to bring back employees!
A Return to the Office gathering
Thank your employees for continuing to be rock stars of your company throughout COVID. Take the event outside while serving delicious food, light and upbeat music, and perhaps a mobile chair massage! Any idea that is new and different from the days of old will surely be remembered by all. The benefits of chair massage are amazing and could be considered as a thank-you wellness program when it is safe for ALL to resume our normal activities. Our clients’ testimonials are here!
Back in the Game!
Bring the fun back outside while the weather is cool and breezy. Offer simple games like cornhole, some carnival games, darts, mini-golf, or basketball. These types of activities build team morale with exercise as a bonus. Why not incorporate the theme with a motivational speech from the CEO when rallying the troops with the “GAME ON” theme to close out the year?
Food Truck Rodeos
Food and music lighten the mood and atmosphere. Consider making a night out for ALL including families or significant others. It may take the edge off and show the spouses or partners goodwill. Besides, who doe not like a night out with no cooking?

Chair massage vs. your own desk!

Most clients I know are creatures of habit! Many of my regular clients prefer the same day, time, and type of onsite chair massage!
In corporate works, times are a-changin’. Many companies it seems are taking away your desk space to incorporate new idea-sharing and corporate cultures. First-come, first-served desks are all the rage with additional workspaces with new names i.e., “huddle rooms” and “touchdown spaces.”
Some employees are finding this a challenge while others find it invigorating! New environments with unassigned seating cause changes in small details that make an office feel like “home” away from home. Family photos are often shown digitally vs. on the desktop. Personal lockers are used to store personal items once stored on a desk.
Here are some tips I read to help the transition go a little bit smoother for those large companies thinking of making this change.
- Set and share rules for new and shared meeting spaces
- Require that a reservation be made in order to book a conference room
- Create group texts or apps for team members to update on meeting spaces and places
- Possible etiquette training on new systems and reserving new spaces
- Clean spaces before and following meetings
We received this testimonial from a client that does make corporate chair massages a regular event!
Excellent!
“This was my 4th time getting a massage from David. As always, he was ready to start on time and was very thorough and precise with finding my trouble areas and getting the knots out.”

Chair massage is just right!

As a busy corporate massage therapist working in various corporate offices, I often see and personally experience the wide range of office temperatures around this time of year. Many workers have sweaters and long layers on while others have short sleeves and open-toed shoes. The range for comfort is vast when it comes to temperatures in today’s corporate office.
The Struggle is Real
As you may know (and experience in your own house), women often feel the temperatures differently than men. Some office workers confess to sneaking the temps up or down at their leisure leaving others to guess why the vast range for comfort.
What can be done to get the temperature just right? Here are a few suggestions which may work to avoid office drama!
- Cooler drinks or warmer drinks ready and on hand
- Layering clothes at work if the cold is a concern
- More breaks and walks outside for those that desire warmer temps
- Small desktop fans for those are the warmer side
The ideal setting for office temps
“According to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), Year-round settings of 68°F for heating and 78°F for cooling provide the most savings. To achieve a good balance between controlling your business energy budget and comfort use year-round, set the thermostat to 70°F for heating and 76°F for cooling.”
Wellness programs like corporate chair massage in Maryland can bring the office together
Mobile chair massage reviews like this one make us smile!

Five ideas; vacation & chair massage

The typical office worker sits at a desk all day long, hunching over computers because it’s his or her job. The worker types away, calling clients, organizing paperwork, selling products—all to help bring in the big bucks to his company, big or small. All the while, their head weighs down on the neck. The posture crumbles down through his or her spine. The fingers, curved over his keyboard, ache, while his or her wrists are threatened by carpal tunnel day in and day out. He’s tired, sore, and hungry for a little more attention from the company he’s [quite literally] breaking his back for. He or she is overworked and typically stressed for the majority of the day. Does this sound familiar? More information here on how to get more relaxation outside the office when not enjoying chair massage!
In reading studies online from the Project: Time Off, this organization notes that “Americans forfeited 212 million days, which is equivalent to $62.2 billion in lost benefits. That means employees donated an individual average of $561 in work time to their employer in 2017.”
Shocking as it reads, it is probably common to all as the typical office worker is tied to emails, conference calls, and projects through the ease and use of modern-day technologies with high-speed internet which allows for work in a variety of places.
Topping off the list of reasons why vacation was taken included the lack of coverage, scheduling, the cost of a vacation, and the corporate culture of taking and scheduling vacations.
Those that travel have the excitement of planning the trip along with the actual travel which creates a win-win! Does your corporate culture support some “kneaded” time away from the office? Happiness increases with job duties, personal relationships, and physical and mental well-being to name a few.
One suggestion is to “ease” into vacation plans and use up those days by planning long weekends including Fridays and Mondays out of the office.
Can’t get away for a vacation? Why “knot” include some of these ideas into your corporate culture to enhance and create stress relief in your office environment?
- On-site mobile chair massage
- Living Wall
- Meditation Classes
- Soothing tea and coffee bar
- Outdoor gardens for relaxation
